Look What Bravo Company Has....

Guys, stuff gets to a certain level of "goodness" and that's all she wrote - when everything detail of an upper (or a rifle) is sweated by pros, there's very little more that can happen. Once you're into the realm of all around excellent - best quality materials, best practices and expert assembly by people with decades of experience, comparison of excellent rifle 'A' to excellent rifle 'B' is kind of pointless, or is that just me?

Self proclaimed Mr Spectacular I have a question; what makes this just another 'crappy' upper?

I'd really like to know

Standing by....

Larry Vickers

Larry! Chill.

It's a "crappy" upper because it's not what I typically look for. For a few hundred dollars more, I could build something with a free-floated rail.

I didn't mean "crappy" in terms of "low-quality", I meant "crappy" in terms of "not what I would buy".

I have owned/used BCM/Colt/vltor/etc
BCM leaves nothing to be desired in quality. They make exceptional products without unnecessary bling and hype. I would trust my BCM products as much as any of the others.

"Crappy" is not the correct description of the product regardless of what the word "means" to you.

I own a BCM 11.5" hammer forged upper right now...it's a fantastic shooter. Definitely one of my keepers. Now if I could just get a lower to match it up with...

Couldn't you have requested that the "simon sleeve" be an integral part of the barrel?

You cannot - The M203A1 mount created by Diemaco attaches to the thicker part of the barrel. This part of the barrel has a diameter larger than the section of the barrel where the Front Site tower is attached to. If the barrel in front of the FSB is made to the diameter for the diemaco M203 to attach to, they won't be able to use the existing standard FSB. The existing FSB opening is too small to go through a barrel diameter that allows attachment of the diemaco M203. (ie, there is no way to install the FSB as the barrel goes through the FSB thru the front)

In order to attach the diemaco M203A1 without modifying ( actually, more like wholesale ditching!)the existing mount, they decide to use a simon sleeve to jackup the diameter of the barrel in front of the FSB. They really have no choice because the Diemaco M203 mount is setup to latch on the barrel just behind the hanguard cap.....

They never think infanteers need carbines - only 20" rifles.

Bro you need to chose better words

My guess is crappy means the same thing to most everyone on this board

A better choice would be ' not something I would be interested in '

Or maybe I'm just old fashioned

I think he is trying to dig himself out of the hole he jumped into…

Lol. "I meant crappy Porsche, because all my cars are Maybach Exeleros. Not that porsches are crappy, just that I prefer Maybachs, and use the word crappy to describe all other cars. Really, it's just the way I talk. When I'm with my friends, I describe their wives as crappy, it means nothing. Simple misunderstanding."

HAHAHA I see what you did there.

Still, needs more quad rail.

That kind of logical thinking gets the Tier fanboys all bent out of shape.

We are an authorized BCM dealer.

Working on providing the full line.

Very cool, I'll be keeping my eye on your site. Would love to get my hands on some of their lightweight barrels.

And to Mr. Spectacular, your logic is flawed, for a few hundred more any upper can have a rail. I prefer putting together my rifles the way that I want, with a rail of my choosing, not that of the retailer.

Yup, because everyone knows comparing excellent rifle ‘BCM’ and ‘DD’ to DPMS and Norinco is kind of pointless. As we already know, every AR15 in Canada had every detail sweated by pros and was made with the best quality materials, best practices and expert assembly by people with decades of experience. God forbid we try to put some clarity to where companies stand in terms of quality.

Yes it did get interesting real quick - Paul Buffoni at BCM is one of the finest gentlemen in the entire industry, a personal friend of mine, and a sponsor of my show- in addition his company makes what many people feel are the best quality M4 style rifles on the market

So as I said - I would love to hear what exactly makes this another 'crappy' upper

I'm all ears

LAV

Just to be clear, you are a paid spokesman for this company, as opposed to an impartial expert, correct ?

Once again you prove your ability to read without comprehension - you must practise that to be so excellent at it. At no time did I say "all AR's are equal" because that's bullsh*t. What I said was that there's a limit to how "good" a rifle you can make, and that when you're looking at two premium rifles, the differences tend to be based on things other than quality.

I recall a few years ago there was a group on cgn attempting to build these with not much success, I would like to take this opportunity to say to Larry,

Thank You for this upper. Also when u see your buddy, let him know we are happy to have this.

Cant wait to get my hands on one
