Sorry guys don't have the cable to tie my camera to computer here so don't have the technology to post pics, but I did take lots. Forest gorilla, bongo, buffalo, forest elephant, flowers, butterflies, Gabon viper, equitorial rain forest, pygmies, I got better at it later on in the month so many more pics of the Congo and related stuff than Kalahari and northern SA.
I shot the lion right in the face at 40 yds looking at me from behind a skimpy bush, he was being very pissy by this time so I decided to take no chances, he just dropped to the ground and never twitched. I was too low for the brain but caught about a foot of the spine, same effect!! TSXs performed flawlessly on all game and I was able to use my rifle for the whole hunt including the Congo. Apparently Ben Franklin permits (for those of you who don't know these are 100 dollar US bills) are good in the Congo. Weather was good throughout, bugs were bad, biting ants, ticks, tse tse flies, spiders.........not too too bad but enough that my leg modeling career is definately over I'm afraid!! One nasty little tick is going to leave a permanent scar for sure.
Congo was amazing, teak trees 14 ft around the butt, the canopy has to be 300 ft above ground, bush so thich you can't push or fight your way through it without a machette, flowers everywhere, butterflies by the millions, it really was cool!!
I'll put up more later.
