NEA Lower Question/Problem... HELP!

How much more "done with it" could he be than just sending it back to Ryan for a full refund? I don't get it.

Also strange how initially it wouldn't fit without some serious sanding or filing and then it did fit without modification but was just more snug than he would have liked. I thought everyone preferred a tight upper to lower fit? Maybe the new owner can put a micrometer on it and shed some light - it's hard to know what to take away from all of this.

I have contacted Ryan, and I am returning the lower for a refund. Again thank you Ryan. I didn't know this was an option initially.

I got the upper into the lower, by forcing it, ended up having to knock my upper out with a hammer and wood doweling, hence too "snug" for my liking (a tight fit is good, that is too tight).

I posted it on EE for cheap because I'm not like some others that try To flog their stuff on this site trying to make %200 profit. The lower has known issues, and the price reflected that. Before realizing I could return/refund, I figured it would be a waste for it to be a restricted paperweight with a serial number that requires a trigger lock and ATT, as it is to me, and sell it to someone that understands it needs some fitting, and doesn't mind tinkering. Once again this issue is going to be dealt with, return/refund by Ryan. Not sure why I have to explain myself or provide further reasoning for wanting to sell it initially.

I have not bad mouthed NEA in any way, I recognized that I had an issue and started this post for help advice, not to start another quality debate, or to get ridiculed.

Runningfool... You have provided no valuable input, but feel free to purchase this lower off me for what I paid for it if you believe I am the issue and not the lower, and prove me wrong, then maybe I'll consider your opinion and comments.

Stuff like this makes me chuckle, a company blowing out lowers for super cheap and everyone thinks its some random act of good will... Its because they had a batch of junk lowers and needed to get rid of them. Who better to sell them to then people looking for cheap junk

I wasn't looking for "cheap junk" I'm sure there are others out there that are very happy with their NEA lowers, once again, price is not always an indication of quality. I came across the lower on sale for a reasonable price and thought why not give it a try, not sure how you are able to assume I'm looking for cheap junk.

Sorry I'm a bit confused by this statement. It sounds like you are saying you can get them together but it is very snug.

Not what he is saying at all, If it fit he wouldn't still be posting about it he would be shooting it. Even if it did fit the hole for the mag release would still be too big. When a customer has to use a hammer to seperate an upper from a lower there is a serious issue. My guess would be that the upper was spreading the too small lower apart. The upshot is that the NEA lower is (surprise) not made properly for two seperate reasons. As an aside my norc lower measured right on the nominal size of .498"

I dont really understand why people were buying these questionable quality lowers. The sale price on these was the same price that freedom ventures is selling a good quality STI lower for.

I didn't know it had problems at the time I ordered it. It does seem good, other than the bolt stop pivot pin hole being possibly oversize. I'm going to try a 2.5mm roll pin, that puts it at .098 instead of .0935 with a 3/32. If that works, its an easy fix.

Why? Because people keep insisting on giving this company chances to redeem itself despite their absolutely pitiful track record with respect to consistency and quality control.

Even a Norc M4 is superior, despite the fact that it was clearly comprised of parts manufactured by the lowest bidders.

Sorry It wasnt meant to be a poke at you. It is clear that NEA just used the canadian market again to flog their mis machined and terrible QC products. In this case price did represent quality as you have experienced

Blax We don't know what the problem is.. I understand you have a hate on for NEA.. But in the absence of fact you really are making a mountain out of a molehole..

No valuable input? Go back to page 1, I was the first one to answer your question. Don't get all butt-hurt...you were the one who one minute said it wouldn't fit without serious sanding/filing and the next said it fit snug.

I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.

Returning a restricted lower receiver seems like a royal pita to me. I'd prefer to find a solution to the pin problem, as the rest of it seems great, and how often do you remove the pin on the bolt catch?

The fact that this thread even exists is a joke! I don't see any threads where people are having problems fitting their LMT, Stag, Colt or Noveske lowers. Any quality lower should be able to slap right on any quality upper with zero issues...this is the beauty of the AR platform.

Returned the lower for refund. I'll concentrate on my current build for now, use the refund towards other parts for that, and purchase a Spikes or another Motiuk lower for my next build.

Good choice. You should also look at the Aero Precision lowers too. I've built a bunch of AR's over the years using them.

I will definitely check out the Aeros! Thanks guys. Right now I'm worried about finding the rest of the parts for this build I need before there's limited supply due to the recent happenings in the US. I need a compensator suitable for a 7.5" barrel, charging handle, Milspec collapsable stock (preferably Magpul CTR or MOE, or something of the like), an Magpul AFG, and lastly a bolt carrier group haha. It seems like I'm close to the light at the end of the tunnel, but still a little ways to go haha.
