If you had $1000 plus or minus a couple hundy to buy an AR-15 today what would you buy??

I don't own an AR but I want one, railed gas block optics ready type, 223. I should add I'd like to be able to hit a target at 100 yards, but not 1/4 MOA like some guys get lol. Don't care what length my ar is.

I can't decide on what of the 10000 AR types to buy.

Help me out.

buy it
i would, its a great price.
then get your optics or iron sights, what ever tickles your fancy, and your good to go.

I guess what I want to know is what group size should i expect from the DPMS with a low mag scope at 100 yards with handloads or bulk?

Roughly guys, don't need down to 3 decimal places.

Thanks!!

DPMS Reviews anyone real quick?

Stag arms 3R?

Can't go wrong with Stag

Probably 1-2.5 inches for groups at 100 yards Handloads will be on the lower end of the scale and your standard AE or PMC probably closer to the high end of the scale.

ht tp://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/rifles/palmetto-state-armory/psa-16-mid-premium-patrol-rifle-package.html and then have irunguns.ca import it for you (when it ever comes back into stock). Or Questar's Spikes Tactical 10.5 rifle (also whenever it comes back into stock).

I would avoid the low-end US manufacturers like Bushmaster, DPMS, Windham Weaponry, and the like. Either spend a little extra for a Daniel Defense, Stag, or LMT if you want a good AR or stick with Norinco for a budget AR.

i built my ar using a dpms barrel and lpk, they work great i have had no problems, my range is 25 yards so i cant say much about the groupings at longer distances,
but when benched its good.

Tjhaile can you explain your thinking on this? Why avoid all the lower end US manufacturers? I'm not trolling I just would like to understand your thinking. I just bought a Windham Weaponry SRC and the fit and finish is really really good (I'm taking it to the range tomorrow for the first time so I will know how it shoots then)

Of course if you just don't like those makers then I understand to each their own, but I would like to hear why if you have a specific reason?

Stag 3R from Arms East. $1285

You know what you're getting with a Stag and resale will be easy if you choose to do so down the road.

DPMS from Wolverine is the way to go for under $1000.

They have a great value for the price. abhobbiest builds off them all the time with great results and no issues.
