Custom AR15 Build

the current firearms climate dictates your wait for parts may take some patience. if the ban is enacted in the US you may be forced to sell whatever parts you have already accumulated and scramble to purchase any type of ar15 sporter here in Canada.

I already have a NEA I can gut, I'm in no rush though. This was more of can I do it/battle rifle build.
I'm young so I can wait it out, just more time to save.
Only thing from the US that I don't have is BCG and LPK
I bought 12 windowed Pmags back when they were $30 in the fall too :)
*Pmags not for sale... Unless you have the BCG or LPK listed above lol

I though about the DD LPK but its just milspec, the Spikes it's Nickel Boron parts and an ergo grip (swapped with the Miad off my NEA 10.5) as for the BCM I might get one and replace the LMT (putting the LMT on my NEA)

Nickel boron LPK is useless. That part of the firearm does not get that dirty. And it is easy to clean.

Welcome to the club Kratos!

Building you're own is extremely rewarding.
And extremely addicting...

I'd be interested to hear what you think of the trigger that comes with the Spike's LPK once you've had a chance to use it.
Probably not a big deal on a PDW but I'm looking at options for an SPR build.

I'm curious why you decided to have another short barreled rifle as well. I'm not poking at ya, just curious what type of shooting makes them fun.

Cheers

Got it for more then just the Nickel Boron
Spike's Battle trigger with Nickel Boron Coated Mil-Spec Single Stage Trigger, Disconnect, and Rounded hammer
Spike's Billet Trigger guard w/Set screw
KNS Gen II Mod II Anti-Rotation pins
Ergo grip in Black (Some grips will NOT have lower plug as Ergo discontinues the use of these in this product code, sorry for the inconvenience)
Ambi Safety Selector
Mil-Spec bolt catch, mag catch, and mag catch button
Mil-Spec detents, plungers, pins, and springs
Quality Spiral roll pins for trigger guard and bolt catch
1/4 Allen screw with washer for grip

I got the bug bad, shot one then bought one and now I'm building one, all in three months. As for the short barrel I do close range drills as I like CQB, my max range is 100 yards since I'm just using irons for now (with poor eyesight). it also cuts weight and works well with my gear setup. Next project is a AICS Rem 700 for long range. I'll definitely do a range report/review as soon as its assembled.

You can't make everyone happy lol everyone has an opinion, I posted knowing I'd get those responses.
Others have been more helpful, which I also expected.
CGN is a great place... Usually :D

OP asks "Tell me what you think about my AR BUILD"

Half of replies: You should have bought a stock rifle for that money.

Love it!

He asked for opinions on those in the know.
Personally, I don't reply to anything unless I have something of value to add - this is true to life as it is on CGN.
Having built and re-built more than a few ARs, my comments stand fwiw. There are a few others here that have walked this beaten path over and over...
If it is the build itself that has intrinsic value, buy a new rifle (for that kind of money) and the tools, rip it apart and put it back together again.
As the OP has spent the money and has the parts it's all moot anyways...have fun with your build!

I could've bought new and tore it apart. First problem I had with this was if I broke something when i disassembled it then warranty is useless. Second problem is upgrading after getting a factory rifle, this way I have everything the way I want it off the start.

I know your post wasn't hating or anything and my response isn't either, people say I have a negative tone. Thanks for the input and I'm already having fun :D

Looks pretty good. Jsut one thing that bother me.

The buffer. I think it's a standard 3oz that S&J sells. I run an 11.5" S&J barrel and I use a much heavier buffer, I would recommend the same >5oz.

I'll keep my eye out for that then, I seen 4.5oz when I was "researching" that was priced well.
Which buffer do you have?

Spikes ST-T2 may be worth the look or an H2 Buffer at least.
