Yes, no burning down of your partners holiday trailer. Even if they are from BC!
That's about it. All else is fair game.

I agree and see it as friendly competition. Usually plenty of targets to go around. Relax, and enjoy it!!
I have 3 gopher calls....yes they do work!!!![]()
Thumbs up! That is the way I grew up. Even when gopher shooting, I respect the other shooter. Some of the responses I`ve heard so far....I`d like to be with them when they are on the last day of deer season and they need to fill that tag. Jump out of the truck and let a shot off in the ground and look at them and say: "What? Were you not quick enough?" Its just a point i`m trying to compare...it comes down to respect. I guess I`m just from the older era. Looking at the kids now a days.....they were never taught respect.I was raised to believe that manners and consideration of others actually matter. Gopher shooting is an informal sport, and there are usually plenty to go around so there is no need to formally take turns or keep count of opportunities, but stealing someone else's shots is inexcusable. I must be terribly old fashioned and out of date, but from some of the comments that I have seen posted on this subject I can't think of the posters as anything but selfish a-holes. Pretty sad when shooting gophers with an invited friend becomes a "me first" competition. Most people learn this stuff in kindergarten. Some never get it.
They're only gophers no need to fret over them there are plenty to go around in some area. When me and my buddies shoot we start off shooting together and then we walk off in our own in different direction keep tabs on each other. Then meet up again at the truck to reload and have at the dust rats together. I like to film so it's no big deal if he shoots a few more gophers than me.
BUT what this post really need are Pics and Video!
This was a few years ago:
Ah the memories of them 55 grain spsx's being driven out at 22-250 velocities in +30 degree temps. The contrails they were leaving were awesome..Betcha dollars to dognuts I could find the exact spot of all the video!!...LOL...
Simple rules to follow...
1...dont shoot me and I wont shoot you
2...dont shoot my damn truck box, remember that your scope is 1 inch above your bore,so close in gophers arent liable to be hit as you shoot across my truck box and put a round thru my truck rails.
3...see that horse over there....dont shoot it...
4...See that there prize bull over on the hill worth 25K...dont shoot it either unless you have a great big bank acct to follow up on your ooppssy...By the way the steaks wont be really tender after your screw up.
5....see the friggen house 150 yards behind the gopher that you want...DONT SHOOT....there could be kids n the yard that cant duck real fast.
6...always ask for permission on any ones land..
7...The passenger always gets out and opens and closes the gate. You arrive and the gate is closed, passenger gets out and opens it,you drive thru and the passenger closes it behind then jumps back in the vehicle.
8..in the event of multiple vehicles pulling in to a 1/4..The passenger gets out, opens the gate and all the vehicles drive in,the passenger then closes the gate.
9...A bbq is always required at noon for food. The host should have this covered..
10....Have fun....and dont shoot at anything you cant afford to pay for...
