..... none of the pictures were used or did I get much acknowledgment that I sent them, even though the person I communicated with wanted them.
Badger gave you a direct LINK to likely the finest photographic "tour" of a rare firearm you will EVER see.
In this case, the firearm is a DOUBLE-DATED Kar98a, the double date indicating that it served in the Reichswehr after the end of the Great War.

It still amazes me how few milsurp ppl know about the MKL over on MSC and the stellar content we have up there
I just landed this old girl last week. It's a 1910 Amberg dated rifle with an excellent bore and matching numbers down the line. It looks like some of the metal work has been polished white and the stocks been varnished. The only real problem is the front band screw is an Allen hex. It has a solid feel for a 103 year old.

That's the one, I never saw it go live on the site, and I had thought you had what you needed, I guess it got lost in translation between us. No offense intended.
God that's a gorgeous gun. The wood seems to be in extraordinary condition, too? What's the problem with the hex band screw, can't find the right size?
I forgot to mention, the top of the butt stock is engraved. It reads 'B1 R.A.F' over '1.88'. Any thoughts on who this rifle was issued to?
