K98a - any of those in Canada?

..... none of the pictures were used or did I get much acknowledgment that I sent them, even though the person I communicated with wanted them.

Hi partner… ;)

You mean this one?

VZ 24 Short Rifle (click here)http://imageevent.com/badgerdog/cgnmilsurpknowledgebase/fvz24shortrifle
Sniper Rifle Issued to Rumanian Army (Manufactured by Ceskoslovenska Zbrojovka BRNO (CZ) Serial # HR24###)

If so, I acknowledged you initial email and sized your photos, which you emailed me and created a Knowledge Library photo montage for you on March 10, 2009. Following that, we exchanged several emails back and forth with you making corrections to descriptions as you requested.

I followed up with several emails requesting the final research text you wanted to include within the "body" of the main article on the piece.

Sorry, didn't hear anything back, so just assumed you got busy and didn't have time to complete the process.

If you want to finish it now, please contact me and I'd be happy to continue on publishing it for you where it was left off....

Nice looking rifle... :)

Regards,
Doug

I got my hands on one not more than a year and a half ago at a small local gun show for $300. It's in excellent condition. Couldn't believe the price. Deals like that don't come around too often.

Badger gave you a direct LINK to likely the finest photographic "tour" of a rare firearm you will EVER see.

In this case, the firearm is a DOUBLE-DATED Kar98a, the double date indicating that it served in the Reichswehr after the end of the Great War.

Click on his link.

Sorry, didn't realize the link. Very nice ...

It still amazes me how few milsurp ppl know about the MKL over on MSC and the stellar content we have up there

Yes. I do know and appreciate the MKL, just didn't see the link.

Thanks guys.

I just landed this old girl last week. It's a 1910 Amberg dated rifle with an excellent bore and matching numbers down the line. It looks like some of the metal work has been polished white and the stocks been varnished. The only real problem is the front band screw is an Allen hex. It has a solid feel for a 103 year old.

Simply...wow, I wish I had an Amberg with an early date like that.

I WISH I had an Amberg
Tada DADADADA dada dada dah
But here I sit with just another Danzig
And what I really wanted was a Loewe!

Next Verse: one of you guys gets to write it!

Tun is "I Wish I was a Rich Man", of course; nothing else could be more appropriate!

God that's a gorgeous gun. The wood seems to be in extraordinary condition, too? What's the problem with the hex band screw, can't find the right size?

That's the one, I never saw it go live on the site, and I had thought you had what you needed, I guess it got lost in translation between us. No offense intended.

No problem ... :)

Here's your other Knowledge Library photo montage we also prepared for you in March 2009, where you've already added your descriptions to the individual pics. It's also a nice piece… :)

Fusil Mle 1924/30 d'entrainement .22 caliber (click here)http://imageevent.com/badgerdog/cgnmilsurpknowledgebase/fusilmle192430dentrainement22cal
Serial # 2XX (Manufactured by Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre (FN))

I can't find any record of you submitting a third piece ....

Email address is badger@milsurps.com

If you want to send me Knowledge Library articles on both these collectibles, we'd be happy to finish the publishing process for you. Please create article content that's both educational and informative, since the purpose of the MKL is to provide a research and reference tool for other collectors. Use any current MKL entry for purposes of understanding the "look and feel", as well as the nature of the content that makes up a good MKL article.

Thanks for you interest ...

Regards,
Doug

How do I get my article, collectible firearm or accessory published in the Library? (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=22

Thanks. It was advertised as 'mint', and looks really good but the polished parts mess with my head. I haven't had a chance to look too much for the screw but when I did, I most often found WTB adds for the same. I'm going to try and clean her up over the next few weeks.

I forgot to mention, the top of the butt stock is engraved. It reads 'B1 R.A.F' over '1.88'. Any thoughts on who this rifle was issued to?
