Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

I put on mine inexpensive 3.5 power Russian Scope, I removed the red dot from the front hand guard for the photo but my vortex spark fits perfect. I can use the scope for longer shoots and vortex spart for close shots. With small light optics waight is kept to minimum

Some beautiful setups here.
The railed dust cover that Corwin Arms is selling looks most excellent.
I have an original VZ-58, which I know it would fit, and a newer-manufactured CSA VZ-58, with thicker side walls of the receiver. Would the dust cover fit the CSA also?
My VISA is hoping you say no, so I don't have to buy 2 of them. :)

Got a new stock on her, and a light mounted underneath. Might buy a side rail for my PRI upper mount and mount the light there sometime. I have a railed spring cover coming in the mail to mount my EoTech on, so stay tuned for pics of that :)

If the inside dimensions of the rear of the receiver are the same, then I don't see why it wouldn't fit. There is a little bit of room between the outside of the receiver and the inside of the corwin cover mounting tabs on my CZ 858. So if your receiver is a couple of thou thicker then I don't see why it wouldn't fit. If you're not sure, check with CA directly.

I am curious about the differences between the Zahal/Corwin Arms railed dust cover and the Gunexpert one.
They look very different in pictures, but I am not certain exactly the pros/cons of each.
Can you, or other owners, maybe post some closer pics of the screws and how it's held to the receiver please??
Thanks.
I love the idea of finally having an integral low profile rail at the rear for the VZ.

Here's what my CZ858 looks like with the dust cover installed and a Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-9 on it using Leupold PRW high rings. The dust cover mounts very solidly using the two bolts either side. Only down side is you have to undo the two bolts for cleaning. upside is, you never touch the scope or the scope mounts , just take the entire cover with scope attached off the gun.

It looks like the actual cover is as close to identical as I can see, going from mine to the Zahal website. Only realy difference I can gather is the Zahal has the springs installed, the one from Corwin does not. It took me a few minutes and some sore fingers to get the big spring on, but got it in the end. The good news is the one from Corwin is priced quite a bit less than the Zahal, and the price difference is not worth it for just the springs being mounted. I also like the idea of suporting a Canadian Company (although I have no clue where the machining is actually done, at least Corwin is in Canada :)

I used the high rings as I really wanted a decent mag scope on it, and to be able to pull the bolt handle back, I needed the extra room. Somewhere I know there is a left side bolt handle kit, just haven't looked yet. At least that would allow me to put some kind of brass deflector on the RHS. For now, I taped up the scope (few layers of duct tape - homage to Red Green - with some electrical tape over that and some velcro to help protect.

Taking it to the range to see how it all works tomorrow, will let y'all know how it goes.

Here is the gun as it sits now:

I held a VZ58 today at Canadian Tire, I have to say I love that thing. Feels a bit heavy but damn I think it would rock with a holosight over the foregrip..
