The Battle Rifle Pictures Thread

What mount is that Tim? Looks like a side mount only as per Bassett style, holds zero AOK? I'm interested in trying a Bassett as it would let me put optics on and off rapidly while maintaining zero (or very near) without leaving the mount on all the time, as I generally prefer irons but here and there a scope is fun.

Believe it or not, that is the much hated aluminum B-Square that I bought back in `96 for it. It heal zero fine for the 600 or so rounds I've put through it. I've upgraded the mount to an ARMS18 because it MUST be better. I am still up in the air about rings that will work with the fat ass Falcon Menace scope I want to put on it.

I just bought an ARMS 18 as well, same reasons. At least the #18 looks good when on the rifle without optics, nice and low, I do like the idea of the whole mount coming off with optics attached though and still maintaining zero on reattachment.

Trolls gonna troll. Go make a "Why I hate norinco thread" Ardent, let people post about main battle rifles here.

Hope you feel better now, all the best.

For the thread, Mod 0 TRW M1A / Mark IV, just pulled it apart to start making the classic "Big Green" posted earlier. Was neat, just too heavy for what it does.

Having never handled a C2, what was so wrong with them? Looks like a good workhorse design to this fellow, admittedly unfamiliar with the gun.

The bipod/handguard. You see it in its extended position. See the exposed barrel? After shooting off a bunch of rounds that barrel gets hot, now displace, when you get up and run you have to remember to not grab the bare barrel...or lose some skin. We would either wear a heavy weight winter glove on the support hand (hated that option) or wire up the handguard and not use it as a bipod. As far as I know the Canadian C2/C2a1 was the only FN to run this set up. The other HB versions with bipod looked like this with both handguard and bipod:
