Not fair restricting me to a 3 gun battery for both NA and African game but since this isn't the shotguns forum and you already said this isn't including restricted either I'll assume you only mean 3 sporting rifles and shotguns, restricteds and rimfires don't apply.
.270 wcf or 7mm-08rem in a winchester model 70 probably stainless
.30-06 in my remington 700BDL
.350rem mag in a remington model 7 stainless and laminate.
I believe most African safari outfits will supply allow you to rent a big bore and thats what I'd use for anything big and nasty over there. I'll dearly miss my .223 Remington and my lever actions but I think I could accept this as my 3 rifles if I had to.
One would have to be a .22lr. I'd go with my older Brno bolt .22, sentimental favourite that drives tacks...nice combinaion of qualities.
One centerfire, must be versatile enough and legal for everything everywhere. I'll take my Blaser .375H&H. I know what you said, but this isn't cheating if I don't keep other barrels for it. It's just so much easier and more pleasant to travel with a take-down. This gun is crazy accurate, has a perfect trigger and scope mounting system, and I have a history with it I just can't duplicate with anything else.
Finally, one shotgun. I don't own a drilling, but a double-12gauge over something like 7x65R would probably get the nod. If not allowed by your rules, which are worse than those of some oppressive countries, I'll just hang onto an old 870.
Includes your shotgun, complete hunting battery.I hunt Africa quite a bit and only use two guns there, my Ruger .375 H&H and Gold Label SxS, definitely easily doable. Pretty much all I use here too come to think of it, ain't a thing a guy can't hunt with a .375 H&H and a 12 gauge.

No, but on a much more potent level loaded plent of the 2,000fps or so SR4756 loads with 270grs. Also tried trail boss and 300gr I think those are low 1,000's, accurate.
Not really in the right forum, I like a good restricted as much as the next guy but we're talking a hunting battery here.![]()
Was curious who was going to know this angle. For the purposes of this thread however- cheating!
