Why you need a STATT just to take your gun home, when you already have a LTATT is beyond me.
Side Question. I have an latt good for borders, gunsmiths, and ranges. Do I need anither ATT to pick up my pistol from Reliable in Burnaby and Bring it home? If so, can I get it in advanced?

Asked CFO the same question... their explanation (like it or not) was that the restricted "gun" has never been to my house before, thus LTATT would not applied until the "gun" has been stored in my house for the first time. Once it has been stored at my house, then LTATT would apply... go figure !
Just bought a Glock 19 Gen 3 FDE and the transfer took 2 business days. Myself and dealer both in BC.
I'd encourage everyone to send in a complaint to cfp-pcaf@rcmp-grc.gc.ca and CC:
- Your MP (regardless of party)
- vic.toews@parl.gc.ca
- cheryl.gallant@parl.gc.ca (who is collecting the CFO petition)
- info@cdnshootingsports.org
- info@nfa.ca
The more emails/letters we send the more likely it is that somebody will notice.
Transfers should be approved within a few hours according to the CFP website: hxxp://www.rcmp.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/facts-faits/index-eng.htm
Well boys I called again today to look in to my transfer and was told that it still hasn't been approved, it has been 2 weeks now. I then asked for the CFO email address and was instead transferred to Miramichi. I then told the person I was talking to that it was unacceptable that its taking up to 6 weeks for a private transfer to be completed as gun stores are completed in 3 to 4 business days and if they could explain why this is. I was then put on hold , 3 min later she came back on the line and told me my transfer is now complete and with in 2 more minutes I had my short term ATT. I again asked why dealers were being give priority over private sales and was given no answer. I told her that was unfair to private sales and every time they did this it makes the waiting time for private sale that much longer. She then told me that Miramichi is now handling the long list of backlogged transfers in BC. So if your done with waiting you need to ask for the email address for the CFO, it will only take 3 minutes.
Cheers.
