Sig 226 reviews

Beautiful!
Looks like my X-Five allround except regular lenght barrel.
Really like the extended slide release

It has all the bells and whistle of the X-Five, only in a P226 form factor:

Deeply encrusted in the slide LPA adjustable sights

Rivalen,
Sweet, exactly the same as my Allround except for the barrel lenght. I was shocked to see the difference in barrel thickness with my regular 226.

She is a beauty!
I just ordered a set of aluminium grips for mine, they need to be modified on order to fit those frames, regular grips don't fit

P226 tacops 9mm was my first pistol. I love it. Lighter recoil than a Glock 17 or a M&P 9mm. Not to mention very accurate as well.

nope, just completly up to the point where you dropped that gem.... just sayin :)

First day posting.....Ive created a monster and was trolling.... Ill be the first to admit it

First handgun I bought and I love it. Huge grin on my face the first time I shot it. I do have an issue with the slide not locking back but I can almost guarantee its my grip (which will be fixed next time I can get out to the range). The DA/SA does take some getting used to and it has a long reset (unless you upgrade to the SRT of course) when compared with other handguns. This thread makes me want to head to the range right now.

It is 100 percent your grip. I had a similar issue when I first started out with a 226 wearing gloves. Try rotating your off hand a little farther forward. While it seems like a little problem that slide going forward on you on an empty mag could be bad news.... errrr... on the range of course..... :)

I got some checkered G10 for it. Really like them, much thinner than the hogue rubbers that came with it (As shown on picture). I really like the X-Five line too, might check into the incoming new X-Line for a single action tack driver :)

Barney,

You forgot the #### falling off part, I am very disapointed.

Gotta change it up slightly to tell the difference between the norc m14 and the Sig talk. If you don't buy two Sigs then your balls fall off, making your #### kind of useless anyway.

I've had a German made P226 for 20 years and it's still going strong - thousands and thousands of rounds without a hiccup. I've always had the itch to get something different in 9mm but nothing else has ever seemed to measure up. So to scratch my itch I just went and bought another one - German made - from a guy here on the EE. In fact, it's a refurb and only 120 S/N down the line from the one I already have!

I've tried the Sigarms 226s and didn't like them as much - they are made a little differently and weigh quite a bit more. I'm also not a fan of having the additional weight/meat of a rail that I'm never gonna use so kind of resent the Yanks for not making a model (of the 50 different ones - a bit overkill/gimmicky) without it. These are just my personal preferences, though. I suppose shooting the same pistol for 20 years is like having that old, worn and faded pair of jeans - it just feels right.

Haven't had a chance to try one with a short reset trigger yet, but that is the only improvement I could see them possibly making to the older 226s I have, just to speed things up that extra bit. On that note, however, the guy I bought the last one from said he tried the SRT on a different one and didn't like it at all. To each their own, I guess. See what you like.

One word of caution - these things are like ameobas...throw just one in your safe and it will start producing more.

"Stimpy you idiot" :) had too.

I agree. I'm looking very forward to adding to my TacOps.

Got the USA made p226 9mm (2012) with E2 grips and night sights. Fantastic gun. Shoots everything I have run. Shoots Steel/brass/hp, not one jam or miss feed. About 1200 brass and 1000 steel has gone through mine so far.

E2 grips are really good, fit my medium sized hand well.

Considering the SRT upgrade but I don't think its worth it, pistol shoots better then I can currently use it.

My Sig 226 came home with me yesterday. Purchased it used from Army Navy in Halifax. I ran the serial number and it was manufactured in 1990. The slide finish is showing some holster wear, but other than that the pistol seems to be in excellent condition. Stripped it and gave it a solid once over and cleaning. All ready for the range. This 226 is DA/SA, no rail. Having always been a 1911 fan (still am), I am really looking forward to shooting this Sig. There may be other Sigs joining this one if all goes according to plan.

Rivalen,

Thanks for sharing pics of your 226s. Absolutely beautiful, (its been a while since a thread pic made my jaw drop). I have a couple of questions if you don't mind?

1. Is your 226s a variation of the discontinued 226 stainless without the rail ?
2. What was your waiting time like?

Thanks,

Gatorade.
