Rob Arm XCR range report (pic heavy)

This would be the best CGN thread EVAR if the OP were to actually follow through with this "wager", win it, and post "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!"

That would deserve the gas for him to get to the range, the ammo, and a T-bone steak at The Keg.... with desert.

start practicing OP...

I find this whole discussion entertaining. I just got into reloading. I have a Remington 700 5R Mil Spec in .308. I improved my 5 round groups from 1.005" at 100m using factory ammo, to 0.460" using my hand loads as you can see in the image below:

This shows the factory loads at the bottom and my Sierra Palma Match hand crafted loads at the top.
The 5R was designed to deliver these results as it is purpose built for the utmost, repeatable accuracy. The XCR was designed for a different purpose and although it can be very accurate, sub MOA with factory ammo is out of the realm of probability. Having said that, the OP is claiming that his XCR can achieve sub .5 MOA with factory loads at 124m with 10 round groups CONSISTANTLY. I do believe that it is possible for an individual to win the lottery 2 times. It is also possible to win the lottery 10 times. It is just so unlikely that I would bet heavily against it. I believe that a factory XCR using factory ammo is about as likely to shoot groups of 10 rounds at sub .5 MOA while welded to a 2000 kg anvil as it is for an individual to win the lottery 100 times without buying a ticket. Sorry for being negative but the claims just defy reason. If it were true, why would anyone want a $10,000 precision target rifle if they could achieve superior accuracy with an off-the-shelf XCR using factory ammo? I await a rational explanation...

Man, this thread was just about to deliver too:

We had outrageous claims...

Backed up with outrageous photo's...

Some TDC nasty truths, delivered with classic TDC panache, followed by silence after more photos...

A challenge, acceptance, and rules set...

A date...

And now an ankle booboo.

To be fair to the OP, we demand photo's of the ankle, and redacted medical reports. The photos should have comparisons between the two ankles with appropriate measuring devices, and a newspaper with todays date- nothing less. Would another member be willing to drive and carry beltfed? Most ranges are accessable for the handicapped, so I can't see why this can't be settled.

This thread could become epic if (as I suggested before) somebody offers beltfed a ride! I would do it if I were in Calgary. Is a gas fund donation needed?

You guys are pretty rediculous. I have an XCR, I shoot 5 round groups however but I have shot 3/5 that were about half an inch apart, call it luck, skill whatever.. but the other 2/5 were more like 1.5-2". So perhaps this guy just got lucky or he is a good shooter. Its not that outrageous to shoot 2 3 round groups like that. If he had 10 of them sure I would call BS but come on. However I am not reading through 17 pages of all the other bs to see what is going on, I just read the first few and it got too much for me lol.

Matt, the OP posted some pictures further into the thread showing multiple 10 round groups at .4 MOA at 124m. So call it as you see it.

Just finished shooting the 10 rounds groups
So just to recap, 2x groups, 10 shots a piece, 124 meters, prone, stock barreled XCR, factory ammo

Can I have my credit now?

Oh.. then yeah I would have to agree and say that it isnt possible with that gun. Maybe if someone spent alot of money fine tuning and upgrading but not stock and you would have to be Very skilled to do it still. Thanks

So beltfed how is the ankle doing? Ready to drive or are you still house bound? So many are waiting for this to happen, you know what the outcome will be so get at it and get'er done,,,

Well it isn't broken, but I still can't put any weight on it.
I don't just want to witness this, if I'm driving to Red Deer, I want a day of shooting!

I found some Fiochi ammo with Hornady 50gr V-Max the other day and bought some to give it a try. Went to the range today and shot a couple of groups of ten with it in my XCR. The groups of 10 were all within 1" square grouping even with the heat shimmer coming of the sand mid day. To say the least I was very impressed with the bullets capabilities. Hopefully they will be available soon in 1000rd lots.

Well that's to bad I was hoping it would be a quicker recovery for you, remember No Weight Bearing and Ice with Elevation are the fastest was to heal that ankle,,, Well best of luck healing good and fast as I know you will follow through with your end of this challenge,,,

Cheers

Purchased some of that fiocchi 40 and 50 grain ammo.
It's shooting about 1 moa for ten round groups out of a tikka tactical .223 bolt action in a full sled setup.

I await an ankle report.
This thread had so much promise !
