Retailers taking pinned 5/20 mags out of boxes??

I have no problem with stores charging more then other stores for the same product. Some stores get better pricing then others due to there purchasing power, some have more overhead costs, some pay employees more etc etc. So a store charging $400 for an item that another store charges $300 for doesn't bother me, either buy it there and support them or take your money else where and get the better deal. A lot of it comes down to service and if they will help you out later if there is problems for me which one to choose. Lots of times I will goto the more expensive store for those reasons. But when the dealer is taking things out of the box that it comes with from the manufacturer and then turns around and charges you extra for those said items, that is a rip off to me. They should be selling things from the manufacturer as is, or changing the price accordingly. That is why there is MSRP. Manufacturer suggested retail. I have no problem with dealers ordering things like that and selling them separately as long as the prices are adjusted to accommodate that. Lots of dealers order bulk ammo, open it up and sell it by the box which is fine. But taking a magazine out of the box, which then the box has a clearly void area where you can usually tell there was an item and charging you full retail or above for that is a gouge.

... Tradex doesn't do it ... Wolverine doesn't do it ... SFRC doesn't do it, so that's where my money goes .. Another retailer I've dealt with who is mentioned in this thread does it ... Specificly with norinco products and guess where my money won't go

I still don't get the complaint.

Ask the site how many mags are included... if they say 'TWO!' and only ONE shows up - you have every right to complain and get a refund/extra mag.

Guys the mags aren't 'free'. They still make up part of the cost to the dealer. If someone includes them for 'free' and is the same price, they are just making less profit. As a customer, you have a choice to shop wherever. If you think they are 'gouging' you, don't buy from them.

It's a pretty simple concept. It's a nightmare to shop. $750.00 1-30 rd mag, cleaning kit, and sling. $785.00 1-5rd mag 1-5/30rd mag no sling, cleaning kit and so on.

Don't want to speak for everyone, but I think most of us know of the firearm and then seek out a supplier to buy it from. There is a general knowledge of what it comes with. Having to qualify whether you skimmed my gear or not is just a completely douchey procedure to have to be put through. Need margin? Bump your price. If your supplier is "Buyer beware! I may have jacked your sh!t." Get a new favourite store.

And I don't get how you don't get it.

Dealers aren't including these for free or as some sort of bonus. They ship from the factory with the 5/20. Dealers are opening the box and taking it out, they then charge you extra for a part that was included in the first place. What if you ordered a M&P Range and Carry Kit for $699 and opened it up to find that only the pistol and one mag was inside? The dealer will gladly sell you a holster and extra mags for a premium though. It's the same thing.

Same thing in Calgary with the S&W M&P 9 and 40 range kits. Some sell with 4 mags, some with two. Some sell at $625 others at $695. The claim is different distributers supply with fewer mags. I got my M&P 40 for $625 with 4 mags. The other dealers didn't get my business.

Homies,

If this was last week I assure you it was not at MilArm. The only M14s we've had here in 9 months are the 18.5" model and they've only been here 2.5 weeks. Every part and piece that came with them is in the box with the gun. To the OP, if this did in fact occur at MilArm, please come back with the bill of sale and I will get you the extra magazine.

Yep, this. The packing slip (that indicates what the gun was packaged with) sometimes arent to be found.

It's a sash-hole move. But it's nothing personal!...

Ok this IS what I'm taking about....... The company who is close to we're I live has it on ther web site as m305 with 1x 5/5 mag and 1x 5/20 mag, cleanning kit and sling .... Then in the discretion box .... "*1 x 5 Round short mag included". 459.95.
Plus I have been there and seen the box with the 5/20 mag space there but no mag...

Just ordered my m305 from SFRC with both mags, cleaning kit and sling for 449.95

Great and easy service off the web with updates on the status ...... Glad I made my the right decision !!!!!! Will buy again from them

People still crying about this? Take it up with the distributor. Most of the time it's them not the retailer. Comes down to the importer. Just cause there's a spot for it never meant it was supposed to be filled.
