Civilian semi-auto Heckler & Koch G36 and future models

Now I am really afraid if they made something similar to SL8 again instead modify the rear but the front this time

According to the info that they will make the barrel NOT interchangeable with G36 and current SL8

So it will be a new gun look like a G36 but its not the G36 .....

I read that on HKpro. You can search that there

If they really make that happen. I think I will rather to have the old SL8 because modfiy the front end is almost impossible

I hope you're not right. I'm looking for a G36 barrel for a long time. Having US made G36 would have solve my problem... :(

Can you guys not buy demilled G36 kits in Canada?

Yes and no.
Demilled kits in the US come from dealers who have police/mil sales and then destroy the samples or police trade-ins and sell the parts since you cannot sell directly to civilians because the G36 is class 3 (I think) in the US.
The dealers here are set up a bit differently and there is not a market for the G36 up here in the LE/mil area. So there are no demilled kits around. Also, under Canadian law no Canadian Mil/LE or government angency firearm of any type can be sold directly or indirectly to a civilian and are completely destroyed. If a demilled kit was available from any other source it would be perfectly legal. The G36 semi-auto only is not prohibited up here like it is in the US so no need to demill it.

CFSEU and Delta PD run G36's.

A person could buy and import a demilled kit and attempt to get it back working. Duct tape should do it :p

Personally, I'd love to see the SL8 in .308.

Well the problem is most LE G36s are select fire so even G36 is legal in Canada those retird LE select fire G36s won't be legal to sell to civilian anyway

Delta is getting rid of their G36s in favour of the C8 ...

Now is that a preference thing or a police policy. I would assume the g36 would be up to any task and equal if not better than the C8 in most regards (barring price and not made in Canada).

New update. HKPro member spoke to HK USA rep recently and HK is going to introduce the civilian G36 at the 2014 Shot Show. So the thread says. Thought you guys north of the border might want to know. According to the thread should be available for purchase late next year.
