Hi Gunnutz:
I am looking to buy my first firearm and would appreciate if anyone could tell me where to find a quality Russian SKS.
Thank you.

I see what you did there...I have a beautiful Russian 1954 in perfect shape. Almost no use and stock that's one in a million.
$500 shipped to your door.
I have found some beautiful all matching, still in cosmoline for under $200. thats tax in. I'd check locally first, and some gun shows, if you have it shipped that will add about $25.00 to the price.
I was at the Carp gun show and they were trying to sell a chinese sks with a $70 NC star dust cover scope mount and a slip on but pad for $475!!!

Not a lot around right now. They tend to come into the country in batches. Both Cabelas and Wholesale Sports in Winnipeg are selling them, but Wholesale is cheaper. I would recommend a new, unfired, Norinco. Frontier Firearms sells them for $199. I have 2 Soviets and 1 Chinese, and I like the Chinese the best. The Russians have better triggers and stocks but can have mismatched parts if they are refurbished. Don't wait. If you have the money, buy it. The Canadian market can dry up for months or longer on some things.
Yes, I bought 2 new, unissued non refub Russians from WSS in Regina. Only downfall to them is that they are 'Frankenpinned."Yup. I got my 53 Tula from WSS Winnipeg, and it's a great gun. Not ultra-rare, mint condition or anything, but it's in great shape with a nice stock and it shoots perfectly. They've got a bunch of them on the rack right now, and they look really nice, too.
I'm pretty sure that deal is done. I was looking for it earlier today and it wasn't listed on the website. Shipping can be killer on that deal though...and I don't think I would call them "high end." They are the military version and supposedly have a slightly heavier stock.donkSTRIKER said:Marstar has the high end chinese ones (not norinco) brand new for 75 bucksif u buy a case of ammo
