Possible CZ 858 reclassification?

holly crap. It's absolute BS for the RCMP to put you guy's in that position and out that kind of money over something they deemed to be legal. Not to mention all the CZ owners. I hope this get resolved soon for everyone's sake.
 
Yea I'm not going to partake i a huge #####-fest when I know I'm doing my part in all this. People are misunderstanding my original post...I posted to pipe down on the rumors and wait to talk about things HERE IN THE FORUM when you have actual info.
 
Im not sure getting mad or upset or angry is going to do anything at all. We can all get angry at the govt and get all mad and stomp around our homes. That will solve nothing. There has to be something we can do thats more effective than sending letters. What do they do in the US? They rely on their main association to spend the money its members have paid putting pressure on the govt, getting to the people the average guy cant and battling ridiculous rulings in court... things the average guy (you and me) cant do.

These re-classifications motivated me to join the CSSA and NFA but honestly, I feel like maybe that was a mistake. Not because I dont think an association CAN be powerful enough to stop rights abuses like these. But because these 2 associations dont seem to be doing anything useful other than to direct their members to write letters. I would think one or both of these associations should be LEADING the charge, organizing their members, constantly updating people on whats happening. The idea that they dont KNOW whats happening only serves to suggest they are NOT as connected as they should be at the highest levels. Look at what happened in the US... the govt WHISPERED even a minute SUGGESTION about even ADJUSTING the current rights of gun owners and the NRA went on a rampage. Calls to action, TV ads, magazine ads, organized protests, pressure on every level of govt to the point I believe they literally scared the CRAP out of the power that be and nothing actually changed.

Thats what we need. I feel guilty that im not doing more (I have written letters and am trying to get a face to face meeting with my Conservative MP also), but the truth is, as an average gun owner, I dont know where to start. My voice alone isnt big enough... all our individual voices of protest are barely a squeak to the RCMP... but all our voices combined are pretty loud. So, NFA, CSSA... which ever one of you want MORE of my money... get organized... DO something. Make some threats, put some pressure, leverage your membership... give us direction and some instructions. We WILL act... we just need to know how, where and when.

personally, i'm just hoping this is the case, and if it is, that i catch wind of it before it gets put into power, would be a great loophole for responsible gun owners to get prohib added to their pal.

personally, i don't think the prohib class should exist, or atleast keep it as an obtainable class with higher level of background checks testing what ever need...

You sound like this just started . Back in 1978 the troopers started marching in , led by the OPP , trying to confiscate firearms starting with the full autos . Anybody who's been around for a while knows anti-gunners are relentless in the destruction of guns . I've been saying for 30 years the smallest group is the first to get hit . Full autos followed by welded autos to semi , then semi auto military style ( ie FN's ) , then those scary short barreled handguns . Registration followed by prohibition . The pattern isn't hard to follow . They even tried registering crossbows . The rifle shooters finally realized they were next only after they were willing to throw everybody else under the bus . The RCMP obviously advance those that are committed to social engineering . Why do you think the STG 44 is still sitting in the corner awaiting approval . Too scary looking to have every kid in the country to plink with ! You can't reason with the RCMP brass . The Political brass has to put the hammer down on these hyenas otherwise they're relentless devouring gun owners with our money ! On byline tonite I saw a Swissarms man trying to defend only his Swissarms rifle . What's that saying " Gentlemen we must hang together or surely we will hang seperately "

That is the absolute last scenario I ever see taking place, and it's almost laughable to even give it a molecule of thought.

I watched Byline too. I was NOT impressed with the Swiss Arms spokesman gun owner. Yes he did defend the Swiss Arms Green and Black Special from reclassification, but did throw the T-97, BD38 and vz-58 owners under the bus, by agreeing with the RCMP that they were doing their job to keep questionable firearms out of the hands of the public. At least that is how I read the interview...I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

I have been collecting firearms since 1989, and I do own AKs, FNs and the lot of 12.5 and 12.6 firearms. I have been through this before in 1992 with Kim Campbell and C-17. And it never changes, how gun owners seem to throw other gun owners under the bus. I wonder why we as gun owners cannot present a unified front. Ultimately the anti-gunners will win, because we keep betraying each other. Too many Fudds....

I agree he should be ashamed how he dodged the cz/vz question to keep on the swiss arm case. We should understand that this is not about the swiss, nore the cz, nore kriss its about our RIGHTS!!!

Ya it will be a new 12.8 class VZ58/CZ858 & all variants . You will only be grandfathered in that one family of rifles & no ATT to shoot them.
Won't cost the Gov 1 cent & makes your rifle worthless .
 
What Canada needs is a reasonable and responsible advocate. Unfortunately the most outspoken people "saying they can take my guns from my cold dead hands" are the ones that the media and general public sees and it reflects badly on the rest of us. I think these are great forums but even I think belonging to something called Gun Nutz is a bit overtop and sends the wrong message.
The NRA is more about supporting the manufacturers than supporting the consumers, they present ridiculous ads and comparisons that most sane people would disagree with.
 
My first post, but long time lurker. CGNers are more powerful than NFA and CSSA combined. It's the biggest and sanest gun community in Canada. WE just need to get it together. Anyone with bright ideas? Can we get CGN mods involved?

Wait, you guys are paying the RCMP this $100, 000 because they will not release your shipment?
