mine finally showed up. i didn't call or intervene in any way as i fully expected serious delays all around with this awesome deal (especially with the CFO)

ordered may 2
confirmed order may 9
initiated transfer may 27
shipped june 18
canpar first delivery attempt june 26
canpar second delivery attempt soon :)

canpars tracking is horrible and cryptic. it showed that it had hit there etobicoke hub and went back out on a linehaul, but in actual fact it was out for delivery. missed him the first time, am waiting for his ass now.

I sent them my registration and transfer papers for the gun a week and a few days ago and I don't think my gun has shipped yet, I tried emailing them but no reply. It says on there website they ship within 48 hours of receiving papers. I know there busy but it's been a week and 2 days.

Here's mine !

A good cleaning was needed for it to be smooth. Out of the box that thing was full of what seemed like dried grease.
Slide is a bit wobbly and finish is not perfect on one side. Both grips were also cracked. (Worst plastic ever)
I am not an expert in firearms by any means, but the trigger is quite good on mine. Feels better then the Glock17 or Walther P99 that I've tried and definately better then any surplus rifles.

Very satisfied with my purchase. Took me a while to figure that the little plastic guns in the box were pencils lol !

I just take what I can get... I have an EE purchase that is very, very trying right now so it evens out. The only thing that's been mentioned before on this thread is making sure you call the cfc often. I called at least 3 times and got them to email the transfer notification which I promptly forwarded to CanAm.

Good luck on a quick process.
My safety spring is deformed so I'll probably get another one (from Marstar?) as well as a full length guide rod.

Canam will likely replace that spring for you!

Same here. I sent them an e-mail with the papers about two weeks ago now. I was asked to be patient. So the answer to you is... be patient.

Had a quick look at my first arrival. Everything good: grips not broken, serrations look decent, barrel finish looks even, blueing looks good, slide locks back with either mag, trigger is crisp at hammer release. The slide is a bit gritty, the mag release and the safety are very stiff (not uncommon from what I've been hearing) but the mags jump right out when the mag release lets go. I'll give her a bath and lube on Saturday and work the trigger & slide some more, that should smooth things out. If the second is just as good I'll be very pleased with the whole endeavour. Boy, you know that you have a beast in your hand, these have a good heft to them!

Web site still shows "waiting for approval" despite receiving the cert via snail mail last wed, June 19. Issue date is June 12. Wonder if I'll ever get this without buyer intervention.

Ordered my SIG 1911 holster for my Scorpion off fleaBay today so the race is on to see if the holster or the NORC will arrive first; the last snail loses.

CC debited May 26th, for a non restricted JW21, shipping obviously delayed do to 1911a1 stress, shipped 21 days later on the 16th of June .. Canpar shows delivery by end of day on the 2nd of July ...

Do the shipping gods cut me any slack ... No they do not .. Tracking still shows it in transit from New Brunswick as opposed to the Hub in my neck of the woods .. No delivery for me tomorrow .. Will still have to wait till next Tuesday July 2nd ..

Just letting you guys/gals know that not just you fine folks who ordered 1911a1's ( I got a police version and 1000 rounds in the spring ) were fighting old man time ... Here is to Tuesday coming fast .... Just have to stay positive ... Maybe move closer to BC

Laugh2

It's been here for a week and I have finally got around to de-greasing the beast. Grips came off easy,no cracks, lots of brake clean to get it clean. Frog-lube everything and back together. Tomorrow its out for the first of many rounds down the pipe. Thanks CanAm for this great combo.

Just got another shipping notice today. I went back to look at the notice from last week and saw it was someone else's shipping info, sent to me in error. I've had my reg cert for this pistol for almost 2 weeks. Not impressed.
