Shorten PAL Approval Times

Update: I just called and asked why my application still isnt online yet. The lady said that it will be when they get to it, but dont expect to be able to do your interview for "A FEW WEEKS"... This is getting ridiculous.

Almost identical situation with me (signed for on May 16th). Is there anybody else with a mid-May application that's getting better results?

I am not having any better luck, I am just upgrading my PAL to an RPAL (so I had assumed it might be faster due to no 28 day waiting period).

Application received May 16, showed up online June 26 as completed initial processing. I phoned in today thinking a week would give them enough time to get to the interview portion - got told to call back next week.
 
Mine shows as being received April 17th, and it's been stuck at 'completed initial processing' since some time in May. I keep calling, and when I can actually get a live body at the CFO, which is where its stuck, they tell me 'yes the file's here, call back in two weeks'. I wonder how much these people earn to do nothing? I should start calling every day.

When they say that tell them you require that in writing (which they won't want to do).. since they obviously are not doing their job properly and are causing undue delays. Therefore you require it in writing so you can take this up with their superiors. That being the Deputy minister of public safety (DMOPS)... but more importantly the ombudsman and your MP/MPPs etc.. and even the press. The more negative light shone on this sham the better.

Just called and was able to do my interview, told my references to call in.

My application was received June 7th and I just gave the CFP a call. I was told that today they had just gotten around to entering the new applications received around June 1st, and I should phone again next week to make sure my application was entered. I'm getting a bit antsy, but I guess I should hunker down and expect the wait.

Two hours after posting, my test results finally showed up. Yay.

ABOUT FREAKN' TIME!!! I finally had enough of waiting around and coming up at 3months I decided to give the BC office a call directly. Took about 5 mins to get through. I explained to the lady that I had already called in at the 2 month mark and was told my app was in good order and my background check came back clean but was now with BC for finally approval. I told her I was now coming up to the 3 month mark and I was starting to get a little worried that my app may have fallen through the cracks. She kinda giggled and said 3 months is not that long but she took my name and put me on hold to check my app. She came back and confirmed my mailing address and told me my app has been completed and issued. I won't believe it until I have the PAL in my hands but boy am I ever glad the wait is over. Three days short of 3 months from received to issued. Way too long. Funny thing is that had I not had enough and started trying to get through to BC directly I would probably be waiting another month or longer... who really knows how long it could have taken.

EDIT:

Just to confirm to all you that the old status check link is still working and active. I just checked my status through that old link and it has been updated to issued. So there is no need to play their stupid games and sign up for an account and jump through more hoops just to check your status. Simply bookmark that old link and keep on checking your status because it is definitely working.

Mine was received June 2nd and got online today July 4th. Also I'm using the old site to check status as I tried jumping through the hoops for the new site and could not get it to work.
 
Update on my RPAL

Received on May 27th at Miramichi NB
Credit card charged on july 2nd
Still not online at all. Havent been contacted by rcmp yet about interview or anything
 
Completed CFSC - March 27
Mailed Application via Registered - April 02
Received @ Miramichi - April 08
Appeared online - April 30
Approved and Issued - July 4th (After calling BC CFO Directly)

Non-Restricted PAL - Neither myself nor my references were ever contacted for interviews.

Can you toss me the link? My shortcut takes me to their new monstrosity. The best part is, if your application isn't entered yet you get to fill out all the data just to be told you're not in the system yet. Seems like they updated their site to match the efficiency of the rest of the program.

HOO YEAHHH! Old status site is definitely still working. I was really hoping today would be the day, since I know they print on Fridays. Oh man, I can't believe its over. Had a bad start to the day, but now I'm flyin high. Time to start my collection!

Edit: More details for you guys.
Received April 17, started calling in May to see if everything was ok with my app, and it was. In May the status went to completed initial processing, and in early June it was at the CFO.

Woohoo! The day after my interviews were done.
