E-mailed The Brass at Hodgdon

Apparently the OP doesn't read this forum much as myself and a bunch of others have posted that all the big guys in Canada have got their powder shipments. Why you would send an email #####ing about this at this point in time is completely beyond me. It was a week ago that I mentioned in a few threads on here I have picked up about 60 pounds of powder from Lawry's because they got their shipment in. I also remember a thread from about a month ago saying that Higginson's got their powder shipment in.

Unfriggin believable... way to represent Canada OP. Email a Hodgdon and complain about lack of powder when it all has arrived in the last few weeks. Even theammosource.com has a thread on their section saying they got their powder shipment in. Maybe you should read or call around before sending such a retarded email.

Seriously? Complaining?

As mentioned, they don't have to answer to Canada in specific. Their statement says everything.

Powder and projectiles are out there. You just have to look long enough and pay for them. Don't expect to find it on your local store. Order it via phone or internet from places that have it in stock. They have trickled orders to Canada all year. Consider that and say THANK YOU!

#1. Yes, I am complaining and sometimes we have a right to do so, especially after being patient for so long.
#2. I mentioned nothing about projectiles, so I don't know where you are getting off saying that.
#3. I have phoned all over this country of ours trying to find powder. I've even tried dealing directly with the distributors.
#4. I don't hoard or stockpile like you probably do. That's what have us all in this situation in the first place.
#6. Now you give me a break.

Same thing for me as well. Hurry up and wait for everyone to stop buying 2 or 3 lifetimes of powder I guess. Funny we all want more people to join the sport but there is piss all for components around.

I don't know WTF you are talking about. The only shipment I have heard is Higginson's and they are cleaned out now. I've been phoning all over this country looking for powder. So, if you say the shipments are in, then step up to the mic and let us know where some H-4350, H-4895 & H-1000 can be found. Or is it your little secret all to yourself?

As for me "representing Canada".....look at you ordering up 60 lbs of powder. You are the one acting like a true glutton.

exactly! People are buying now to the point where their grand kids will be using it. It's so silly.

This is all I'm asking for:

2 lbs of H-4350
2 lbs of H-4895
3 lbs of H-1000

Is that greedy?

Last week I actually found some H-110 and bought 3 lbs of it. They told me they had 10 lbs left. Instead of buying it all up, I thought it would be nice of me to let people know on here that such-and-such a place had 10 lbs of H-110 in stock. Stupid of me to do that. Some dirtbag phoned them up and ordered the whole 10 lbs and then bragged about it.

Of coarse its to himself. He will buy all the store has then come on here and say how he has enough for 45 years of shooting and how it sucks to be everyone else. I caught word of a few guys in my city that are buying all the powder they can just because they have the money to buy it.

Guys that cant afford to buy 50-500 pounds of powder at one time just have to suffer until all the greedy people get their fill. Because someone might come take their guns. Guess what powder aint gonna do much good without guns. So chill the F out and let some other people enjoy this hobby as well

I could not of said it better myself. Good job!

You know what pisses me off too? When these powder shipments do finally arrive, all the dirtbags who already have enough to last them the next 20 years will jump in and buy it all up just for spite and leave people like me hanging in the wind.

I have powder in stock. I've been receiving shipments of powder & primers all summer while I've have been closed. Browse my website & I'll be back Online on Sept 3rd for you to place your orders.
Regards, Henry

Funniest part of it is that a big part of Hodgdon's powders (most of the IMR line) is made in Valleyfield, Qc, then shipped in the US and shipped back here. And I can say that the General Dynamics plant (GDS-OTS ex-SNC/IVI plant) is up and running, maybe not at fullblast, but enough to fill any demand.

Best solution to a powder shortage is foresight.
I started about 2 years ago, judiciously laying in a bit of each of my favorites.
I now can sit back and smile, while the panic ensues, lol.

Well, it's one thing to have a nice little hoard set away for a rainy day, but the current shortage situation pretty much sucks for folks like me that have just gotten into reloading in the last 6 months or so.

I seriously felt slightly guilty when I bought both (gasp!) of the last 2 pounds of Varget (at a grossly inflated $45/lb at a certain local Outfitting store here on the Island - bloody gougers...) a couple of months back, instead of just taking 1 pound and leaving the other pound for someone else. I guess folks that pick up 50 pounds at once are probably feeling 50 times as much guilt... NOT!

I should probably consider myself lucky that I've been too busy with work to have had enough range time to shoot myself out of powder yet - down to half a pound or so left now - just missed out on Higginson's Varget delivery last month.

I'm in the same boat, running down to the last bit of my H4895 container. I don't blame the people that are buying it all up either. If I could afford to, and it was available, I'd buy 10 pounds today after work. I've finally started shooting enough that one pound last me about a month, longer in the winter. I see nothing wrong with slowly building a two or three year surplus to keep shooting in lean times or in times where powder is scarce. I'm going to to start stocking up on bullets too when the ones I use come back in. That said, if I had much more than I needed for the next couple months, I'd probably be willing to part with a pound or two at the price I paid to someone local in need.

I just was at lowry shooting sports, they got there shipment in, "had" varget 40 8Lb jugs of it(sold out though) and a bunch of 1lbs, i picked up 4 1Lbs, my .223 and .243 rifles i couldnt reload all summer due to no varget, been looking all over since feb. I can even shoot the target rifle matches i want because no powder, ugh F'N americans.

You won't be smiling long with all that powder, because during a Zombie epidemic Zombies are attracted to load noises and gunfire. You will end up being attacked and torn apart by thousands of Zombies and only the smart people like me who stocked up on machetes and cross bows will be left alive.

(even now the un-infected people are attacking you)

What were you thinking?

I can just feel the love...

Hahaha.

IF I had the money, I'd probably buy enough powder, projectiles and primers to last me for years. It's only going to go up in price.

At the moment, since I"m accused of "hoarding", I have about 16lbs, but I shoot hundreds of rounds a month. Not a hunter who shoots 20 a year. I looked AHEAD and planned. I bought when it was available knowing it was going to be harder to find. It's not the companies problems it's gone, they have nothing to promise us. I think that's stellar they even responded to the OP and haven't price gouged when demand is through the roof.

I was just going to say, the other day I was parusing for projectiles and noted Henry had some of the powders you are looking for.

So the question remains. How hard did you look for it? I have buddies buying Varget when everybody said it's gone?

Quit your complaining. If you knew this issue was going on you should have planned ahead long ago. Everybody's problems these days are because of somebody else. Nobody looks at themselves.

Lets leave it to last minute, then ##### nothing is available when it's needed...

WORSE YET! There are STILL people on this thread #####ing and complaining when HENRY SAID he has the powder in stock.

Yup, just checked. Still there.

H-4895..... for the picking.... Want IMR-4895? Yup, he has that too.
