Canada = rest of the world = not a big enough market for us to care.

I work in the automobile industry and had it explained very simply to me once.

Why would we care about having complaints about our products and change them when our market in California alone is greater than that of all of Canada. This was the reply when asking about having more climate friendly vehicles.

I can understand the thought process. But simply put, the issue isn't big enough to care about.

Now if the exports were the majority of their business things would be different.

Seriously? Complaining?

As mentioned, they don't have to answer to Canada in specific. Their statement says everything.

Powder and projectiles are out there. You just have to look long enough and pay for them. Don't expect to find it on your local store. Order it via phone or internet from places that have it in stock. They have trickled orders to Canada all year. Consider that and say THANK YOU!

Best solution to a powder shortage is foresight.
I started about 2 years ago, judiciously laying in a bit of each of my favorites.
I now can sit back and smile, while the panic ensues, lol.

......" I could not agree more "........

I was told from someone at work not too long ago that there are some Canadian Tire stores that stock reloading supplies. I have heard about Meaford on this forum, as well as the Belleville CT location stocking so much that a local gun shop closed down because they couldnt compete.

Pick up the September issue of Guns and Ammo and read "The Great Ammo Drought" on page 14, no one is picking on Canada.

One of the biggest cause of the shortages are returning Vets from Iraq and Afghanistan and their interest in firearms and shooting and the manufactures not being able to keep up with demand.

I'm an American and I have a hard time finding powder and bullets, what is aggravating is the stores are setting purchase limits and someone shows up with his wife, older children and friends and all of them buy the same thing and wipe out what little came into the gun shop.

The manufactures are running 24/7 and some are building new manufacturing plants to meet demand.

Calm down, Hodgdon's does not make powder they buy it from the manufactures. General Dynamics Weapons Division owns the old Remington/Dupont powder manufacturing plant in Canada and the old Winchester/Olin plant in Florida and Hodgdon's buys their powder from them and from ADI in Australia.

Things are tight, I'm shooting Titegroup powder in my 40 S&W and .44 magnum................

If you don't have any ammo, then just go to the range, fix bayonets and blame the Australians for the shortage.

NOTICE: No koala bears were hurt or injured during the filming of the posting.

St Thomas CT had 2 lbs of H4350 in stock last week .... now I have 2 lbs of H4350 in stock on my bench :)

I couldn't agree more with Eagleye. Stock up when components are available and you'll never suffer a shortage again.
I also couldn't agree more,I was caught short a time or two myself a while back.Ain't gonna happen again if I can avoid it.I don't think there is a week or two that goes by without me picking up something, maybe just a box of bullets or a bit of powder or whatever. If I see something that I figure I can use at some point it goes into the stash for future use.

I have the situation fully in hand............have so many guns that it doesn't matter what powder is left on the shelf, I have a caliber that burns it. I usually buy the 8 lb cannisters of most my powders and have many, many on my shelf at any given time. I am running low on RL 15 and IMR 4350 though............

Eagleye.

That is fine of you've been at it for a good while. If not you are struggling to find what you need.
