Pick up the September issue of Guns and Ammo and read "The Great Ammo Drought" on page 14, no one is picking on Canada.
One of the biggest cause of the shortages are returning Vets from Iraq and Afghanistan and their interest in firearms and shooting and the manufactures not being able to keep up with demand.
I'm an American and I have a hard time finding powder and bullets, what is aggravating is the stores are setting purchase limits and someone shows up with his wife, older children and friends and all of them buy the same thing and wipe out what little came into the gun shop.
The manufactures are running 24/7 and some are building new manufacturing plants to meet demand.
Calm down, Hodgdon's does not make powder they buy it from the manufactures. General Dynamics Weapons Division owns the old Remington/Dupont powder manufacturing plant in Canada and the old Winchester/Olin plant in Florida and Hodgdon's buys their powder from them and from ADI in Australia.
Things are tight, I'm shooting Titegroup powder in my 40 S&W and .44 magnum................
If you don't have any ammo, then just go to the range, fix bayonets and blame the Australians for the shortage.
NOTICE: No koala bears were hurt or injured during the filming of the posting.
