E-mailed The Brass at Hodgdon

You can take your powder and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Actually ya... It's in a dark cool place.

Those links are all BS to what I'm looking for. Oh, and another thing, you don't know how many rounds a year I shoot. I will tell you that is wayyyyy more than the 500 you suggested.

Those links are two of the three largest powder retailers in Canada. I don't care how many rounds you fire a year. I shoot enough that I can easily burn through 40 pounds a year. What seems excessive to you may only be adequate for others but like a good liberal you know what's best for everybody.

Just because you have no life and can sit at a bench for hours casting slugs and bullets does not entitle you to all the powder you want. You seem to think that. Maybe you should call up Hodgdon and tell them to ship all their production to your door then?

I'm looking for a total of 7 pounds of powder right now. Is that much to as for? Just to get me thru hunting season. How can you call me greedy ?

Who says I have no life? At least I have friends that let me know when stuff comes around. You have a phone and no clue.

You got it. Like on here with Coreyd saying "nah, na, na, na, na......I got all the powder and you got none."

It's a fact... I have all the powder I want, except for H4350 but nobody in Canada got that. You still say you are looking for almost everything you want, so ya... I got the powder and you don't.

Maybe someone will let the appropriate people know about his powder hoarding??? See who's bragging then when the heat start knocking at his door?

Sure there mouthpiece. How about you quote us the amount of powder we are allowed to have. I'll give you a hint, google NRCAN. Obviously you're a blow hard scraping the barrel here because first you are implying that you are going to commit mischief by letting "the appropriate people" know. Secondly you obviously don't have a clue about the regulations here. Maybe you should do a little research before spouting off about crap you have no clue about.

power is not hard to come by.

I have been able to get everything I need right away.
But I use Varget and titgroup for everything.

Ok, I hear what you are saying. Go out and try to buy H-4350, H-4895, H-1000 and then come back and talk to us.

Edit. I'm sure you know this already but maybe take a look at the regulations for storage of said powder. I seem to remember something about the 10kg of it.

Here you go
http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/322015-Powder-amp-primer-storage-Regulations

How about directly from the NRCAN website...

An individual can store up to 75 kg. of powder (which includes both "black powder" and "smokeless powder") in a dwelling house, provided that it is stored in compliance with Part XII of the Explosives Regulations . If the powder is stored in a "detached store," then all 75 kg. may be stored together. If it is stored in a "suitable receptacle", then each "suitable receptacle" must hold not more than 10 kg., but the allowable aggregate remains 75kg.

Edit: A "suitable receptacle" includes the container it came in.

Sounds like someone is worried or has something to hide.

Huh? So I have said how much powder I have bought in an open forum. I have quoted the real regulations as opposed to somebody's post on CGN and you think I am worried or have something to hide? How about you go hide in a corner and get educated before sending retarded emails grouping all Canadians into your completely clueless rant.

Seriously? Complaining?

As mentioned, they don't have to answer to Canada in specific. Their statement says everything.

Powder and projectiles are out there. You just have to look long enough and pay for them. Don't expect to find it on your local store. Order it via phone or internet from places that have it in stock. They have trickled orders to Canada all year. Consider that and say THANK YOU!

Im not saying thank you to anyone. there manufacturing and selling a product. they don't provide me with a free service or anything, I pay for an item and they manufacture it and sell it to me. If there product is so backordered that its not available im not going to "thank"" them for providing what little product we have received recently. if they don't want sell me something then fine ill buy from somewhere else.

if they were selling pancakes and were backordered 8 months and only had a box once every 3 months would we thank them? or would we just buy pancakes from another supplier? gotta remember that YOU are the customer and them selling you something means they should be thanking YOU not the other way around.

on a less rantful note, I find the best way to find what you want is to check the smaller stores especially ones that don't advertise online they often have popular stuff sitting around that doesn't get instantly bought up by the internet horders as soon as someone mentions X SHORTAGE:eek::eek:

I personally know of the location of several pounds of H1000, Varget, and all the other powders mentioned in the email sitting on a store shelf somewhere in Ontario:D

Also .500 S&W loaded rounds at another undisclosed location:cool:

hahahahaha took me a few to catch that. hahahahahahaha

oh oh bwahahahahahahaha

Lol, I was just about to post those same quotes!

Great job Bitumen! I'm surprised you haven't brought up how much you hate Lee yet in this thread...

Well isn't this entertaining.
Veiled threats, accusations of greed, sloth and gluttony.
People expressing their wrath and envy about lusting over powder someone is proud of.
All the deadly sins in one story.
Almost biblical.

I'm actually rather amazed that out of the 140+ powders out there, not one could possibly be a suitable substitute for the three in question. Or that none of the places that have been quoted have any powder left. Or maybe not for some select folks, anyways.

The thing is, whenever we are faced with a shortage up here in Canada all of us are in the same boat. It is our contacts, savvy and willingness to hunt that separates the haves from the have-nots. I always find the guns, powder, components that I am looking for because I ask questions, call ahead, look around and keep my eyes/ears peeled. If you think the brass @ Hodgdon give a sh*t about Canada you are sadly mistaken. Pick a manufacturer of anything firearms related and you will find that Canada represents a very small percentage of their market share and our needs will always be subordinate to those of our American friends.

This thread reminds me of other threads where a guy has emailed a dealer about something, waited for a response for 2-3 weeks and then started a thread here on CGN about a non-responsive dealer. If you want something bad enough, pick up the f*ckin phone and call.

Interestingly enough, I was in at Lawry's yesterday and picked up a whole bunch of sh*t that is hard to find anywhere (including the last 3 lbs of Varget, CCI Benchrest primers). How was I able to do this? Because I called a week ago and put everything on hold following a tip from another CGN'er on where the latest shipment had arrived.

Its not going to get better anytime soon, so quit #####ing and start putting the work in like the rest of us.

Patrick

As an American one of the things I liked the best about this forum was how polite Canadians are.

If you want to start wars and make people hate you then become a American citizen and do it right.

If you really want to argue and fight about something lets fight about which country makes the best beer.

Sorry, you loose..................:nest:
