Girsan Regard Thread

I had a pin walking out as I fired. since it was the one just in front of the rear sight it was obvious and I'd just tap it back in as needed. I applied a little blue Loctite the other day and I should be off to the range this weekend to see if it will be successful. Easy to sort out and live with till you do (assuming anyone else had a similar problem).

I have only used 147gr jacketed bullets so far, so I can't personally speak about lead bullets.

I haven't had any pins walking out of the stainless one or the black one at this point either.

I had the same issue. It was the pin that holds the extractor in. I peened the underside of it (the end that is accessed from under the slide) and it hasn't moved since. I absolutely love this pistol. Also wondering if Beretta grips will work, what with the finger grooves and whatnot.

Panels work, wrap arounds probably won't....

ohh man guys.. I just tried to take my gun apart.. all the pins take a damn good hammering! even the pin holding in the landyard strap and mainspring needed to be hammered out.
unfortunately I couldnt even get out my hammer cause the hammer pin is stuck in so bad. Took a punch to it and tried and i could only dent the hammer pin and it still wouldnt budge :( anyone else tried to take theirs apart? Im trying to polish up my hammer and sear like i did with my M&P and put on a new hammer possibly :(

Hmm, the mainspring pin is a roll pin, had to hammer mine a bit to get it out. The hammer pin, trigger pin, etc. all came out with little resistance. Haven't tried to detail strip the slide yet, don't have a punch small enough to move those little pins in the decocker, might have to grind down a precision screwdriver or something...

To remove the hammer did you just have to remove the mainspring and grips? And then it comes out? Or did I miss something? Cause I removed my grips. Punched out the roll pin for the lanyard and mainsrping then tried to take out the hammer pin.. Wouldn't even budge at all :s

Just had mine apart. ENTIRELY apart. Like, even the ejector (just so I can say I did). Anyways, as far as removing the hammer goes, the pin only goes one way. You have to go from the right side of the gun (as if aiming down the sights), its kind of hidden behind the trigger bar (which can be a bit of pain getting back in with the trigger return spring) but I think you can access the hammer pin without pulling the trigger bar by pulling the trigger a bit, and it'll move out of the way. And yes, you have to remove the grips, and the mainspring.

yea so I removed the grips and tried pushing it from the right to the left. I know I had it the right way, mine just seems to be jammed up :S Is there any chances you could try removing just your grips and your mainspring and see if yours comes out? that way i'll know if theres something missing. I just moved my trigger bar out of the way and hit the hammer pin and it wouldnt come out :S

lol yesterday I compared the Girsan and the beretta out for the Grips and boy there is way no Difference and the funny thing is the guy pops out the meg from the Beretta and says watch this he puts it into the Girsan lol and fits right in like it wuld be just another Beretta 92 lol amazing

These are nice pistols. Especially for the price.
Probably the best deal out there right now.

Agreed. I was surprised by how well-machined they are and the construction feels very robust. I haven't heard of anybody having problems with them yet. Super impressed by the value for the money on these.

I'm very interested in some long-term observations from the actual owners.
These pistols are obviously manufactured up to fairly decent standards.
Question is - will the materials used hold up to the abuse (none of us is really abusing the firearms we own, but You know what I mean...)?
If they would get rid off these finger grooves...that would be even nicer.
Anyway, I'm not lining up for Beretta, so one problem less on my head, but we are very fortunate to have a choice like that.

I know the Megs for the Girsan is the same as the Berettas but are parts like the guide rods and springs are the same ?

Springs were all drop in for me, same with guiderods. Locking block is a hair oversize and needs minor polishing to fit. Extractor dropped right in, so did slide stop.

the thing I love about my Girsan is it comes with two Megs gota love that lol

A little tip....if you have a GSG and picked up the spare parts kit, the touch up paint in it is almost identical to the black finish on the Girsans.

I love my Girsan Full Sized 9mm in Black.

Ordered 3 more Mec-Gar M9 magazines for it, they are exact same as what comes with the Girsan, I know have 5 magazines and they all run flawlessly.

Ordered a BladeTech DOH holster for it, i'll post to see how if fits and everything and post pictures when it comes.

Gun shoots great, would love some adjustable sights or different sights of some sorts.... any news on new rear sights? I heard the dovetail is just a little smaller then the Beretta's so it needs some filing to make them fit? any info/personal experience here guys?
