Gives me shivers every time I burn film with it LOL
Discusting act japs ve done with those rifles. If u look up the definition of evil. Look no further.
We r all familiar with what the japs did and now it is really up to us to ensure they never repeat that on our loved ones.
Feel blessed living on our great land with proper defense. Grow a pair and buy Canadian, rather than investIng in jap baby killas
Oh, please.
What a ridiculous post. Are you implying that civilian ownership of Arisakas will suddenly pave the way for a new rape of Nanking, this time in Canadian cities? Do you think that certain rifles turn people into murderous psychopaths whenever they pick them up? If so, I believe that Wendy Cukier would love to call you an ally. Be careful, though! She probably won't ban the Arisaka, at least at first. As for the "grow a pair" comment, what does this even mean? It sounds like you're calling anyone who owns an axis firearm less of a man. Absolutely asinine.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with owning firearms, be they Lee Enfields, Arisakas, or fricking Hi-Points. A firearm, which is an inanimate object, has no will. If we need to blame people for doing atrocious things, which the Japanese certainly made a habit of doing wherever they went, then perhaps we should lay the blame where it belongs - on the people.
I don't even own an Arisaka, or any axis rifles for that matter, but seriously. I have absolutely no problem with people who don't feel comfortable owning a Japanese or German rifle, but give the holier than thou "less of a man" crap a rest.
Your blaming the people of Japan? That's a little racist. So your using the cheech & Chong theory.
"Guns don't kill people, cops kill people" quoting Sleepy Rodriguez from "still smokin"
That is idiotic. The Japanese designed there weapons and decorated them in a way to make their soldiers turn into savages. They succeeded in every way. They made the rifles extra long like spears and put an extra long toad sticker on them. They would rather stick someone than shoot them. What other country ran around with samurai swords. I didn't see England dragging broad swords around. The point is the good guys are not into cutting off heads like the evil empire of Japan.
These CHNers are right.
And if you think it's "grand-daddy's battles" you're deluded. The wars continue, only by other means.
"...a bonzai charge..." Those tiny trees don't do that. And you'd never even think about a banzai anything if you'd ever fired a belt fed MG. One shot into each and every square yard.
These GIs must have turned coats to the Japanese side LOL

Uh... EVERY major WW1 and WW2 combatant issued bayonets with their infantry rifles. The Ariska Type 99 with bayonet is about 1cm longer than an SMLE with a bayonet attached. No significant length difference. Also, ALL major armies, to this day, still use swords for various things. The British, in WW1, still issued them to officers and NCOs for combat purposes - though many ditched them as the war progressed as not being practical in a trench.
The mum was not intended to turn anyone savage - it's an imperial ownership marking, nothing more. No more so than the Royal Ciper on an SMLE.

Thanks for backing me with the good guys not using swords. Good job. Even the Japanese tanks and planes were suicide machines. No freakin armor. They always looked like Swiss cheese.
I found this documentary the other day. It's an excellent example of what this type of war can do to people. I'm sure you've all heard of it. This Japanese veteran gets admissions of war crimes from elderly vets by beating the s#$% out of them. It's bizarre, tragic, disturbing, silly, and many other adjectives. It's clear the protagonist never returned from the war. He's still there.

What a fail thread, started by someone I still maintain ought to be banned as a troll. As if the Japanese are the only ones to ever commit atrocities in combat, and that the actions and emotion of humans somehow imparts an incorporeal malevolence on the tools used. Please.
