My new red baby :D

LOL that made my day. And I agree, the expensive bullpups won't be selling for less. The Norc AR didn't drive anyone's prices down it just got more new shooters into the sport. People recognize quality and although the Norc AR functions and shoots quite well it just isn't a Noveske or KAC. Or even DD. Nobody rushed out to offload their 'merican ARs so they could get a norc just like nobody will be dumping their Tavors to get a T97.

In what way is the quality of the Type 97 inferior to the Tavor ?

I am 100% with you on that!

Here his how I see it wen speaking of t97 d'evaluating other bullpup. The rfb has better ergonomics then the t97 and a good portion eill vouch that the tavor has better ergos then the rfb. We can all agree the tavor has better pedigree then the t97. It is far more easy and workable to scope the rfb and tavor also!

Now we need to all realize that tve t97 is 1500 $ less then the 2 others so just by that it makes comparing them pointless just like comparinv a su16 to a swiss arm , Its not the same price and not aim at the same people or gun safe tier. Just as I love my svt 40 and sks as my rfb. You just can't ask/expect the same thing from it. To say the t97 has serious handicap wen compare to the rfb and tavor is forgetting the price gap!

Now that all this is said very nice t97 and I hope to own one someday as I really like what it offers for the price!

People have bought the Tavor simply because it was the only.223 bullpup available, that is no longer the case.

I could buy two Type 97's and at least a case of ammo for the price of one Tavor. The Tavor needs to be of overwhelmingly superior quality to be able to compete. Tavor sales will drop significantly unless the price comes down.

Yes you are right. But some people will pay the premium to have a more flexible or optic friendly rifle, name recognition and ergos.

Now Id love to have one in the future! Its a real nice rifle!

I'll be buying a T97 and not a Tavor, but the Tavor IS overwhelmingly superior on 3 fronts:
  • Ergonomics. The QBZ95 was not initially designed with STANAG mags in mind so the mag release is in a pretty awful spot. Safety is odd too.
  • Flexibility. Tavor comes flat-top, making addition of optics very easy. The T97 handle rail puts optics up too high, and looks like it's best for red dots and other ultra low profile add-ons.
  • Ambidextrous.

That all said, I'll make do. I'm right handed, I'm not going to war (I'll live with the inconvenient mag releases/safeties), and I can live with the simplicity of iron sights. For a civilian user, the T97 is a great low price alternative to the Tavor, but I'm not going to pretend they're just as good.

retail new $2699
have not seen one above that in awhile there was the $3600 guy but that was a few months back.

I sure hope the price troll comes along and explains the free market, love that guy.
But I suspect he is to busy attending communist party meetings.

You don't know, so !

Maybe is more accurate :) and don't blow the gas in face.

Range report needed

If these are non restricted, why can't you bullpup a SKS?

Because bull pup stocks are illegal. Guns designed as bull pups, with receivers integrated into the stock are legal. It is how the act it worded. Another example of how anti gunners tried to be legally wordy and it ended up backfiring on them.

You have enough add ons this month.
