SKS Prototype stock (update 02-02-2014) post 244

Okay I have looked at your pics and that is killer dude! I will buy one. That's a promise. The SKS functions as good or better than other rifles so good job on making it look cool. I was going to buy a tapco stock but when I saw one in a store "no thanks".
 
yea , all the hole are drilled for the rail

soo you can put only the rail you want where you want and save some weight , you just want a sight on it you put only 2 rail on his

More "cheap parts for a cheap gun" logic:rolleyes: An SKS is not an entry level hunting or sporting arm. Yes, mounting a Zeiss scope on Savage 111 is illogical. Nothing wrong with spending money on a milsurp.

Sort of agree but still like the idea of a polymer aluminum hybrid design. Were the action screw on the stock and at the back were the trigger guard lock spring is I would make aluminum retainer brackets and also the rails would be aluminum. Every were else would be high grade polymer. It not only would be light weight, easy to make custom color's, low price point but also would allow for easy modification's due to the vast tolerance differences between different country's, make's & models.
Plus any weight savings would truly be a bonus on such a rifle platform.
Needless to say I most likely would put money down on this design too.
 
Added some hole for some Allen set screw in the receiver area to hold it in case it move and for secure it , and added a small angle in the lower near the trigger because the sks trigger group is not parallel to the receiver ,

soon i hope , im in contact with someone on this forum , he will probably be able to make one in aluminum , for maybe 1/3 or 1/2 of the price of a 3d printer one

I know everybody want one but i want it more ^^ I've put too many time in that idea to fall back now

with a SKS D i would be able to mod a little bit the magwell area to look better , but i dont have it and not everybody one one too

i really thinking sometime maybe to pay for a 3d printer one and after that a aluminum one or the inverse , i know the 3d printed one can be made very fast but is the price that will come with it,


i have modified a little bit the lower part near the trigger area , replacing the radius by a 45 degree slope easier to machine
