Girsan Regard Thread

went to the range last night. handloads 124g fmj, some 3.2g blue dot, some 3.5 blue dot. lot of flash and bang but didn't cycle well. going to try 3.8g and 4g next till i can get some bullseye powder. ran 150 american eagle 115 fmj and 50 blazer brass 124 fmj and had no problems. a guy at the range said he would try to remember to bring his beretta 92fs inox next week because we are both wondering what innerchanges. he's going to measure the rear sight dovetails to make sure the beretta adjustable rear sight fits. i know they will need to be filed abit because they never fit perfect but mine shoots way low an it is annoying. i don't want to compensate for it because my husband and son shoot it once in a while and it's hard to remember where to put it.

I got some 147gr XTP loaded up warm with some Longshot. I'm hoping the heavier bullets will raise POI enough that I won't have to mess with the sights....
Bunch of 124gr loaded hot with HS6 to see how it handles that as well.

^^^ haha.. thats awesome :)
Any ways guys.. last time i went to the range i only shot a couple mags :( .. for some reason my new mossberg tactical 715t got addicting :p. Should be taking the 9mm and 40 out again soon. What do you guys think of a polished slide with the rest of it kept black?

About as cool as the kids who wear pants 7 sizes too large belted underneath their butt cheeks, with their stripey grandpa boxers displayed to the world.

You asked ;P

(And that would be a joke. Your gun, so only your opinion matters)

isn't that 715t a fun gun. bought one and love it. want to do Muddy Girl Camo Hydro Dip on it.

haha
and yea the gun is awesome. I have shot about 200 rounds outta it the first day. ran into one FTF. The magazine spring didnt push up the next round and follower was down. Just took a light tap and everything was good :) One thing i learnt is CCI quiets dont work in semi auto guns.

is the ha ha about the muddy girl camo. whats wrong with a girl wanting a pink gun.

nothing at all! :) its awesome, I think.

Hell, if more women wanted to shoot, and got their rPAL, then we would have a much bigger vote, and maybe lots of this bs we face right now would be a thing of the past.

no the haha was Mark-II's comment

Sad that ive only shot it once :(. As for the hydro dipping. I defiantly wanna see that :) If it looks awesome im gonna do mine in pink camo or something. My girlfriend loves shooting it too and if it was pink. I think she would enjoy it alot more and wouldnt even set it down :) . (not gonna lie.... I kinda want a pink gun just cause :p )
Seen an awesome glock done in pink i actually started to like pink on guns. :)

;)

I went out with a buddy last weekend and did better with his brand new M&P than I did with the Girsan.

Damn that smith is a gun I hate to love. No character, but it does the job.

Anyone going to try running that cheap Tula steel case 9mm from the new sponsor? I'm thinking of it for winter ammo, instead of chiseling brass out of the snow, and it's not too much more than I can reload for.

I missed my delivery today, but the pistol is at the post office for me to pick up tomorrow after work!!

pics to come!

oh and Northern Republic ships mags fast :) those were here today too.

mag pouch on the way. now I need a holster.

Which Girsan did you get and yes, pics are always welcome. I bought from a dealer recently, ordered compact stainless but got full size stainless. I was a little angry at first but I decided to keep the full size. I got various Wolff recoil springs already from Brownells and will be testing the heavier ones, either 15lb or 16lb.

LOL - I had ordered the full size and got the compact, and was also a little angry at first (especially as I told the dealer to make absolutely certain that it wasn't a Compact MC). Just decided it wasn't worth the hassle of return shipping it.

My dealer said they never even had full size ordered, only compacts, so the Turks placed full sized piece in a box with markings for a compact one so apparently it was an honest mistake. However, the registration is correct, shows Regard with full length barrel. Ultimately, it is even a good thing that I got the full size piece as opposed to compact. Fit and finish is superb. I am not too crazy about the shiny polish on the sides and the barrel but I got over it by now.

If you really hate the shiny stuff, it's easy enough to have it glass beaded.

I got a full size, with rail. I didn't want a rail, but it was another mistake. Partially mine partially thiers.

Its nice tho, I really like it. Having not shot it yet, I can't comment on that.

its my first non striker pistol, so the DA trigger is tough, but I am sure I will get used to it.

2 more mags are here, and the mag pouch is in the mail. holster is almost in the mail.

I will have to learn about being safe with a hammer fired pistol and using it in IDPA.
