I also bought the last laminate stock from Westrifle... I plan to install it on my early 1950 "shooter"...
The recycled hardwood stock that came with it, while nice and shiney, doesn't suit a refurb in my opinion.

All '49's come in recycled hardwood or new production laminate. They may also come in recycled laminate, though I haven't seen any. So the stocks are all force matched during arsenal refurbishment.

They were refurb. I got 2 of them, 1 with refurb mark and the other didnt have any but was a light refurb. All that said, they were in spotless condition both with the proper slimer forehand hardwood stock. They are on the never sell list

As of now I can tell you guys there is no more 1949 in any configuration that is available for export. One of our employe was overseas and out of 5000 units that he selected for next shipment not a single one was 1949 model.

Happy with mine... and I love the proper arsenal fitted laminate stock with the shallow forestock. I feel like buying another 1949 just so I can drop it into my spare 1949 laminate stock.
