Norinco NS522 tack driver!!

Well if you need the ammo then do it. I mean free shipping so it's always spot on price wise. If you can afford it then do it. But definetly grab one of these

Now that mine is broken in, I am loving it! Next move is to free float the barrel and maybe get some marine-tex to do a half decent bedding job. Once I pulled that action/barrel out and looked inside the stock, I was even more amazed with the accuracy. The inside of the stock provides very rough and uneven contact surfaces.

Has anyone floated the barrel on one of these yet?

Last weekend I was banging away on my CZ 455, at the Cumberland range.
Trying to see how accurate it could be at 50 yds. with different setting on the stock mounting screws.
I was using an assortment of brands of good quality .22 ammo, (what is available, here on the Island).
There was a gentleman off to me right doing the same thing with his .22 and bulk ammo (Norinco ns522).
I was so impressed that I have one on order for myself now.

As for the rings I have read that the ns522 has a dovetail that is 3/8” and not 11mm, so finding rings should not a concern.
Even if it shows up with 11mm dovetail, I will just get a set of ring for an air rifle, as they use 11mm also.

Just got mine today , stripped everything down and degreased it. The metal finish quality is some of the best i have seen on any Norinco , trigger is fantastic after i cleaned the grease out , bolt is about as smooth as my CZ452 was new.. Only issue was stock fitting , this stock was not made fro this exact rifle . I had to do some jimmy rig shimming and bedding , they did put some washers in the stock to shim the bottom metal but i did a little more now the stock fits tight with no binding or flexing .. Going to the range tomorrow , from the looks of this thing i got high hopes .

Haha, and I have a set of the 3/8ths (which is 9.525mm) and they slide right on without needing to be stretched/expanded and tighten flush as well. I guess both will work.

More importantly to the CZ. Mossberg and Anschutz guys.... anyone found any non-norc mags that work? sourcing more of these through CanAm sounds like it could take some time.

I got my 522 rifle about a month or so ago, and after disassembling it and wiping all of the factory oil/ preservative off it, I reassembled it. the bolt has a very tight lockup, and the trigger is clean and fairly crisp, but non adjustable as far as I could tell. I took it to the range for an accuracy test, but I should have put a thousand rounds or so through it just to smooth the lands and grooves. I never got a really good group with any of the ammo I put through it except for a mag full of RWS R100. that ammo printed about a .3 group, but at $20.00 for a box of 50, it had better make a small group. My rifle also has washers under the bottom metal, 2 washers per screw and the barrel has contact with the stock all the way out to the fore end. not exactly my idea of an ideal bed, but for a 250 dollar rifle I can do a lot of bedding and tinkering to get it right. most of the ammo did around 1/2-3/4", not stellar, but not hopeless either, and I have all winter to get it sorted out.

Recently got one. Good lord these things are absolutely soaked in Chinese gravy. I bet it could have been stored for 100 more years.
Decent trigger, snug fit in the stock but bolt handle cutout and trigger guard areas are off. Kinda stiff working the bolt but its smoothing out already from just dry cycling it so I'm sure it will improve with use. Looks to be a better quality overall than other norinco 22's I've had (ie, doesn't look like the metal was cut with a blunt axe). Looking forward to giving it a whirl.

Got mine today,, thing sweats oil..metal finish is good, screws holding to together were finger tight, stock took an hr of sanding to make it nice and free, . lots of burrs in the machining, bolt relief done with an axe..barrel touching in front 4`. I find the forestock thick.will clearcoat stock, holes cut for sling are unsealed also. anyone know what height of scope mounts to get for a 1`22 mag scope.
