I just bought this... 1911 guys need your opinions. Good or bad.

I think you did good if your goal was to get a 1911. I say buy 500 rounds, and don't sell it until you have gone through every last round, OR, owned it for 3 months. Give it time, and it should grow. If it doesn't, your probably not a 1911 guy.

I have a mirror blue finish, original Remington Issue, 1911, stamped with "property of US government", and she is a real beaut. I don't shoot it all that much for some reason, but I do love her when I get her out. A nice colt 1911 is a nice "must have" on the pistol rack. As long as you don't hate, you will probably learn to love it.

Plus, when you bring newbs out and you ask them what they want to shoot, a 1911 is almost always on their bucket list

I actually have owned two 1911s. A spingfield armoury loaded that i should have kept! And a sig sauer mia/pow. I never tried a commander length before and i was getting sick of glocks so wanted to try something new. I almost pulled the trigger on a ed brown kobra carry, but snagged this one instead.

Both the COlt or Ed Brown would have been fine 1911 choices IMHO. How did you like the sig 1911? I have always wanted one, but the price is steep compared to many other 1911's. I love how the Sig crosses the line between classic 1911 and modern Sig design, real gems to look at. Did it shoot good, how was the trigger? The Tac-Ops is extremely appealing to me

I liked the sig fine, but im not ano expert on 1911s so i dunno how it compares to others. It wasnt as reliable as the springfield i had but the springfield was used and broke in, the sig was brand new.

Personally love the stainless I have a Ruger SR1911, Kimber Stainless II, A Sig P220 Match Elite (On order forever) and a Sig X5 X-Press (here in 2 weeks). I am sure you will love it :)
 
sunray you are wrong again, Colt made a copy of the 1911 in 2011 as a commemorative...just got back from the range after putting 50 rounds through one.
 
Wait until you lose the safety lever plunger spring if you want to see a spring hit 'mach 1' and disappear into some dark recess of the shop, never to be seen again - until you buy a replacement or two .....

ya ive read that stuff, but all in all most say its still a great shooter. I know the ed brown doesnt have that firing pin block, im saving up for that one.

just a range plinker, i dont do the competition scene. And i cant carry so its just paper in my future. To be honest thats all i want. I would hate to ever use any firearm for self defence. I dont know if i could live with that.

Not situation anyone wants to be in, that's for sure. May talk the talk, but the walk is a different story. Range time however, is all smiles
