Canpar package not delivered missing in transit - Updated!!

from my understanding, CanPar uses contractors for various area's. The Woman that works my area is awesome, and leaves her phone number on the slip, and even delver my last parcel to my place of work for me, just so I could sign for the rifle. I get that not ALL couriers can be this awesome, but it is something they could strive for.

I think CanPar is a joke. I purposely took a work from home day to accept my CanAm deal a few months ago. I was sitting 15 feet from the door and just happened to login to the canpar tracking site to get the status of the shipment. Not even 5 minutes before the driver had updated that no one was home. I went to the door and found the attempted delivery slip. He never rang the door bell or knocked. I raised holy hell with them over the phone. They said the driver confirmed he rang the door bell and was too far away to come back. I ended up sending an email to the higher ups listed on their site and never heard a thing. Had to trek across the city to get my stuff.

From what I have seen on the web, it's not uncommon for the drivers to do this. I wish I had video of the driver doing it to send them proof.

I had the exact same thing happen with Canada Post last week. I was home all day, within 20 feet of the door at all times, and they left a pick-up slip saying there was no answer. Ringing the doorbell for everyone must cut into breaks or lunch. Unfortunately, there are going to be some lazy people in every area... it's just luck of the draw, or un-luck of the draw, depending which category you fit into. It must be nice to have a job that you can make your own rules on the fly, then lie about it when asked, and have no consequences.

Today's update.

Still no results from Canpar's investigation they did tell me it would be up to 48 hours from yesterday.

To clarify this is all Canpar's issue the firearms left Canada Ammo complete and since I am in lucky Manitoba my CFO had the transfer completed in a couple of days and they were shipped middle of last week.

Tried to submit a police report but the Winnipeg police service said it was premature since the Canpar investigation has not yet been completed and to call back if they come back as lost/stolen. The police reps I spoke to were understandably concerned but very helpful and I imagine there will be a investigation if they are determined as lost/stolen. Since the firearms have been successfully transferred they will remain on my registry file and noted as lost/stolen unless they are found by the Canpar investigation.

Canada Ammo has since been in contact with me and after a short and completely satisfactory conversation I am confident that I will see two pistols in the near future after the Canpar investigation completes, either my original pistols or two new ones which have been set aside for replacement purposes. I was unsuccessful phoning but the email I submitted was answered after two days. I was initially irritated about the seeming difficulty contacting them but that has more than passed. I would recommend an automatic e-mail receipt being implemented at some point.

So now it is a waiting game and I hope Canpar finds those damn guns.

Regards,

Izzit

Best of luck buddy. In thought it would turn up automatically as a second parcel after few days but I guess the case is not the same!!!

I don't get this Line. The Guns were never in your possession, how can you be held responsible?

Canpar dropped off one of my rifles to my building's custodian, I guy I had never previously met, nor have I seen him since he came up and handed me my package, saying he signed for it and knew I was home. Not sure how because I drove in through the parking garage. I was not happy about that, that's for sure, but that is my only Canpar experience. I wouldn't want them to ship anything to me again.

I will not be criminally responsible if they are used in the commission of a crime as they were lost in transit and the notation on my CFO registry will have this down. Canada Ammo has to transfer the registration of any restricted firearm to the buyer prior to shipping, those pistols belonged to me before they left Canada Ammo's warehouse and are no longer registered to Canada Ammo.

I had a rifle stolen from me 30 years ago. I still have it registered to me (restricted) because if it ever turns up it is still mine. I was told to do this by the RCMP/CFC to ensure that if it is ever recovered, I would have a chance of getting it back. Otherwise it would be considered abandoned/given up and be destroyed.

I emailed canpar about mine today. Was told they're reaching out to operations to advise further and as I suspected they should have arrived at the same time as the ammo per the shipping slip. Giving them until Friday to contact me back then I'll be doing what someone else suggested and telling them I'll be contacting the RCMP about it. My canpar guy is awesome too, seems contracted out drives his own vehicle, calls before his delivery to see if I'll be home and such. Just hoping they turn up, like you the last thing I want is to worry about where they've gone.

Everyone has had some pretty bad experiences with CanPar. I can't say the same. My local CanPar guy is great. I met him at the end of my very long, snowy driveway last year when he pulled up. I had a hot coffee for him and he didn't even have to put on his boots. The next 2 packages I ordered, I guess he remembered my name and he gave me a call in the morning from the Depot before he left. Conversation went something like:
"Hey! CanPar here. You going to be around today?"
"No, I'm at work until 5"
"Well, how about rather than me walking down your driveway with a note for your door, I could deliver it to you at work?"
"You can do that?"
"For sure, I have one other package to go into that part of town anyways"

Also spoke with canam today, top notch. They will send me two more if they don't show up after I report it to the rcmp etc.

I have to say when I first joined this board I had a low opinion of CanAm but after several orders and seeing things like this on here I have concluded that they are an awsome online dealer. I actually check to see if they have items I see on other sites as i would rather deal with them.

Good job Canada Ammo you make customers for life when you offer such great customer service and resolution!

Well good news for me, they showed up today. No update from canpar's customer service and the tracking information isn't update. Also the delivery guy who ALWAYS calls me first (like once a month for various ammo/powder purchases) didn't call, strange but just happy they showed up. Good luck with yours Izzit.

My .45 came with the ammo at the same time.

As for Canpar, one day I was sitting on my porch when their truck parked on the street between the houses. I said " hey boss, for me?" and the driver said no and drop shipped in the driveway next door.

Later that night my neighbour comes over with my AR and two crates of 5.56. I checked the CanPar site the next day to find "unintelligible " had signed for it. Yeah. Now I'm reluctant to deal with vendors dealing with canpar but what am I gonna do?
