hey guys my svt 40 doesnt have the notch and grooves for a scope mount, have any of you mounted a sks choate scope with scuccess. I would love to hear if you guys have tried something that works and holds a solid zero. What are my options?

If it was me I'd want something like this.

As you can't drill an SVT 40 receiver I think your only option would be to weld one on.

The Choate and Promag mount to the side of the receiver on an SKS. The only good way to scope one as far as I'm concerned. There is a narrow flat surface on the SVT that might be suitable, not sure how solid of a mount it might be though. Why not try to trade someone for a rifle with the rails and get it done up right?

i may have something for you soon , im presently working on a scout mount to replace the rear sight , the drawing is nearly done , have to decide if i pay for a 3dprinted one to check the fit and if that work or find a machine shop and start now with the aluminum

This is a Mosin POSP flat mount we had it welded to the side of the receiver, another job that has to be done small part of the stock has to be inleted to fit the mount

Here's the war time solution. This scope and mount were found in the old house near Kyiv, Ukraine, where the defensive line of 1941 was. Of course it's not the best solution, but hey, at least it's historically accurate and you don't have to bubba your rifle. I can post more pics if there's any interest.

you must be blind then didn't happen to notice the very first rifle in the thread did you.

####ty pics, but they are there. that is a VEPR mount. fits perfectly no wood had to be removed. BUT you cant drill and tap a SVT 40 you say, ok then
