Wow. That is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sending the picture. Great motivation to get busy on my project.
Do you find the enhanced bolt realease a worthwhile upgrade? I've been on the fence about purchasing one.
Thanks again,
Odd Shot...very nice! Love the wood but the sling looks a little dry and could probably use some lube. Is that a 10rnd mag?
Thanks!
The bolt release is really nice, but I couldn't install it myself (not the right tools or know-how). The one problem with it is that it seems to only properly engage Norc magazines for my rifle. Springfield Armory magazine followers seemed to get bound up on it, making the release useless.
Good eye, John. Yes, the sling needs some mink oil or Neet's foot. Gonna put some one tonight. And yes, that is a 10 round mag pinned to 5. I like the lines it gives this rifle.

Comment from Ardent at the first page about the user who had the barrel blown off a shorty.
You suggested western does not have this problem ? Funny there is a Smith & Wesson with barrel and slide blown up hanging in my gun club on the wall.
This is the only shorty That I have heard or seen that has had this happen.
I have 5 various 305's , 2 are shortys , 1 Socum and 2 older 2007 Norcs.
They all shoot good and I have shot thousands of rounds through them.
Most accidents like this are from something the user may have unknowingly contributed to.
Did they check the barrel before shooting it?
Did the shooter clean out the barrel or Chamber of Grease and oil and then check it again before shooting it.?
This may be a freak accident if it is and or may be a lone bad one. Or a flaw in the metal that was not visible.
Please Supply proof of any more happenings of this shorty problem before you spread scare rumours and or suggest that only western products have problems.
I have had lots of western products that are faulty.
John
Will the Ruger M77 Gunsite bolt action magazine fit and operate in our Norc's? Anyone have such a mag and could try it out?
