Trade Ex M38

I had a couple of requests for a picture down the bore, so here you go. After cleaning it came out nice, (not dark or frosted).

Tradex shouldnt advertise as being excellent condition if thats the case. This is clearly not excellent condition. They sell stand alone excellent condition mosins for $169. I have sent an email.

Forget the shellac & scratches if the bore is excellent shape, keep it. Any soviet arm that gets used will eventually get another coat of shellac but replacing a barrel is a hell of a lot harder

All week long my tracking has said that it's at the postal facility in Hawkesbury. No update since the 16th and it's supposedly due today....somehow think it'll be after Xmas.....

You are still lucky, I ordered monday and I don't even have a tracking number. To be faire tradex told .e it would leave Thursday, but I'm just impatient.

Got mine last night and couldn't wait any longer so I opened it after the wife went to work. She is a 1944 Izzy. Stock is a refurb M44 one in really nice condition with the typical dents and flaking shellac spots. The blueing is perfect and it is all matching with what looks to be original stamps on the butt plate, receiver, bolt and mag. floor plate and the bore looks amazing! Can't wait to try her out. Nice and light and short. Could make for a good deer blaster in years to come!

Some pics would be great..

The standard changes as they become less available I guess..

I was looking up a place advertised in the arms de feu and they had stuff that they listed as very good condition even though the bores were frosted or dark (not their word. I forget their word, but it was a cute little word that made it sound like a frosted or dark bore could still be considered very good). Way overpriced too, and it turned out to be the "Canadian only" section of the website of a US dealer...

And i will join the screw canada post train.

Just checked tracking. I dont get why they tease you with earlier date (dec 24 was orig exp dd.) only to extend that date (to the 27th). Why not do the opposite.. Guess it relates back to traffic at CP.

Happy unboxing everyone.
