What's the deal with threaded barrels?

compensator's are fun little add on's once you get into them.
they are only limited by your imagination and money.

they are like pin stripe's on your car, decoration.
or.... those little tassley dingly balls you can put on the inside of your car if you are so inclined.

We used to call them "Velocity Balls" back in the day when local dufuses got paid on friday night and wanted to add trinkets to their rust bucket cars.

And it balances my GSG out to be more similar to my 38 super for practice drills.

Not to derail this thread, but why do you feel that you need a comp on a rimfire? Or a barrel weight? I've never had trouble controlling a .22.

Precision pistol shooting benefits from weights and comps. Though not a comp or threaded barrel, I do have a .22 LR target pistol that weighs in at 2lbs 14oz. It is heavy but very stable.

Nope, the owner is quite lucky he was able to alleviate the massive kick with such a device.. Without one I doubt you could fire 1 or 2 (thousand) at a time.

My one with threaded is used with a solvent trap adapter so that I can one day try out a new cleaning method that is better for the environment, and re use my cleaning solutions.

Because threaded barrels make you 27% cooler. And you will immediately shoot 19% more accurately.

Take the HK45 compact. Prohibited due to barrel length of 3.94 in. Tactical version - adds an extra .6" (4.57 in.) so it's legal and your good to go. Feel safer yet?
