RPAL Expires in July. When should i app to renew?

They had NO INTENTION of telling you.

The CFO's believe their function is to frustrate law abiding gun owners to the point we give up the hobby.

and here i thought i was being unnecessarily fussy sending the renewal in 6 months early.

should have done it sooner!!!

... but in all seriousness, sounds like it's averaging about 2 months. good to know.

Lets say yours expired Oct 2014. You send it Oct 13. So do you lose a year? Or does your new one kick in on OCT 14? And last the normal amount of time?

I have not done a renewal before...

Is it just 80 dollars if you have both a pal and rpal.

Or is is 80 plus 60 = 140 for both the pal and rpal combined?

I know how I read the website and it suggests just 80 but I do not want to find out the hard way.

Agree 100% on the registered with signature even if the dam post office charged me $11.04 to add it to a dam envelope

Is this a BC thing? You do not need a Club Membership to have an RPAL. I had mine for a couple years before I owned a Restricted firearm.

If you just have the PAL, it's $60 total.

If you have the RPAL (obviously non restricteds, restricteds, and if you're lucky prohibited) is $80 total.
 
I just completed a transfer they said my PAL expires in Nov so I'll have the renewals mailed to me in Aug...3 months should be fine.
 
5 Years ago it took well over 6 months to get my RPAL renewed. This last go around took about a month, which is impressive. I will renew mine the at least 355 days prior to its expiry just in case they slack off again :evil:
 
I just renewed mine. It expires in April and figured best to do it now then never. I like atleast how the RCMP just s3nt me the forms without me having to call them and ask for them.

As I understand it, the CFC is trying to align PALs and LTATTs such that they expire on your birthday. When my LTATT expired they only renewed up to the date my PAL expires which corresponds with my birthday. There after the PAL and LTATT will come due for renewal at the same time.

Every time I go to the RCMP web site and try to download their Form 5614 for license renewal, I get the following garbage. Anyone out there able to download the form because I sure as hell cannot.

Went through this 2 weeks ago and have no idea what it taking place other than my wife and daughter are running windows 7 and 8 and were getting this or something similiar. Bottom line they could not open it.
I checked on an old dell I have set up in the basement which still has XP and it opened and printed out fine.
Wish I could be of more help Sorry

i'm using a Mac and it didn't work. I did find another copy of the PDF on another web site that I could download and fill in. Mine expires in July but I'll be damned if I'm going to wait for them to send me a partially completed form in the mail. I'll get my photo done tomorrow and package it off in the mail by Monday.

My RPAL expires in 2014. I sent the request a full year ahead in 2013. My new RPAL is valid till 2019. I do not lose a year.
