Cast Bullet ####

Now that's a manly cartridge Spawn.
I am a man :) the spire points are 375gr but I have a 700gr mold and everything in between. If I had the money I would get the 500 mag from BFR. Because they have a longer cylinder then Smith does. Someone made a 850gr mold for it!

Guess like most other cartridges you can load down some for casual shooting? Otherwise as I see it even the most burly of men won't be able to shoot more than 2 or 3 cylinders on a range visit.

that's what the trailboss is for and better trigger control for the full house loads. i bring 50 rounds each range visit most of which are usually full house, i don't mind the recoil too much. rifles on the other hand sitting at the bench or prone get annoying fairly quickly. (mosin or k31 after the mosin)

Is that home-made lube, and if so what is it? Do you pan lube, or use lube sizer?

Are you talking about mine?

The Maxi's are pan lubed with LLA then lubed with a mix of Bore Butter and bees wax. I do this by melting wax/lube in tin and placing boolits in and allow to cool, then punch out with TC plastic "quick load"
All others are pan lubed with LLA and sized with a Lee sizer.

I made up another lube using 1 part bees wax, 1 part Crisco(+or- the Crisco weather temp depending) and a teaspoon of olive oil .

Guess it's like anything you just get used to it and improve form with time. The nice thing about reloading and casting is you can start out with the man sized guns and just load down until you're comfortable and form is there to shoot the full house rounds. My first rifle was a 22 but my first handgun certainly won't be.

850 grain .510's

Slowly building up my stash of these while I wait for my 510 whisper chamber reamer.............

cartridges from left to right for size comparison are 22-250, 300 blackout and 223..............

lead level in the post goes down pretty quick when your getting 8 bullets per pound.............

I don't cast anything as big as .510" but I do have some 500gr .45-70 bullets I shoot on occasion. Generally I don't like to throw that much precious lead down range per shot so I stick to 340gr cast most of the time. I can't recover fired rounds at the range I'm a member at :(

Over 40gr of H4895 they truck along at 1450fps out of my H&R single shot and punch clear through 12"+ poplar trees and keep going (guaranteed they are tumbling at that point though).

.22lr and .223 for scale

I am sitting on over 6000 pounds...........once the weather breaks I'll be pouring 100 15 pound cannon balls to off set the price of fishing this summer..........

For a second I thought you meant 6000lbs of gun powder. You must post pictures and ideally a video of the process! I demand it.

of my finned 15 pound down rigger weights?????

Should be trying out the new 400 pound bottom pour pot for those..........

more pictures......
ok, ill show off
here is some from this weekends range trip.
was very cold but was able to get out and have some fun.
grouping was at 100 yards and were around 2 inches if was able to do my part and kept my finger from freezing up.
powder was H110 9.9 grains.
i did not have a chrony but this is not a subsonic load and did notice some flattened primers.

the bullet is a lyman 311284 and bullet weight is around 220grain 30 cal.

used it for this 300 blackout produced by north shore barrels, really great guy and great work.

the gun can probably shoot better if i do my part and don't freeze my fingers off.
only problem im having with this gun is that im not always getting reliable extraction out of the action for the spent case.
sometimes they just fall in the action but dont flip out of the action.
someone has mentioned this to me in the past with using a savage 223 donor action, does anyone know how to mend this?

You need a 3.5mm stainless steel ball bearing under your extractor to take out some of the slop so it remains engaged on the case......I bought a bag of 100 of them for a couple bucks off flea bay, any bike or skateboard shop will likely have these in the back
