I just meant that the steel core and/or steel plated bullets wear away the inside of the barrel.
Please explain, "likely ruined by cheap ammo."

They don'tI just meant that the steel core and/or steel plated bullets wear away the inside of the barrel.
I do clean my guns after a shoot. I'm more concerned about the steel bullet going down the barrel and wearing it down.
They don't
We have all seen it. Not "research"; just one web test does not a data set make.If you believe this, have a look at the latest research conducted last year using AR15s: http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/
One conclusion was:
As indicated by accuracy testing, the steel cased/bimetal jacketed ammunition caused accelerated wear to the inside of their respective bores. While the barrel of the Federal carbine had plenty of life left, even after 10,000 rounds at extremely high rates of fire, the Wolf and Brown Bear barrels were subjected to the same rates of fire and were completely “shot out” by 6,000 rounds.
I have a Mossberg MVP Varmint in 5.56 and really like it. I didn't know they made a 7.62x39 model.
Thanks, I'll have a look. All I found were the 7.62 Nato version which is 7.62 x 51 I believe.
Can you shoot 7.62 x 39 out of these?

Yes, if you wear it out; because I know it won't happen. So shoot away. Are you still backing up this with a new barrel if there is wear? Maybe another sticky is needed.
I have bought many guns and ammo from you and would buy a more expensive bolt action if backed
up with a guarantee -- otherwise I'll wait for the cheaper bolts -- if we ever see them again.![]()
Why are the Norinco bolt-action 7.62x39 rifles so difficult to get?
Are they still currently being made?
mossberg mvp in stock thoughYes, but both are out of stock
the jw103 is no longer made
