SR22 Rifle Questions

Looks good, but....is it just me, or are there a few important pieces missing? :)
Also I think your bipod needs to be longer, or your mag needs to be shorter.
I am interested in the scope, what make and model is that?
 
The bipod goes to 9", but I think you are right about that not being long enough. I may have to shoot with the off hand under the butt...I was tempted to get a Magpul stock with the integrated mono-pod...but just a bit too rich for me. My Vantage bi-pod came with 2 adapters. One is on the Savage TR, the other one I might put on this. The adapter gives another 1" of height to the bi-pod.

Scope is a Millett TRS-1 with Millett low rings from LeBarons. A nice scope that doesn't break the bank. I still may go with something smaller for this project.

There's an ACE M4 SOCOM stock for sale in the Black Rifle EE now. No connection with seller, but its a stock that seems in line with what you are going for.

See post #179 for pics of configuration #1 &2. The Archangel magazine is working much better now that I have smoothed out the "feed ramp" and broken it in a little more.

Thanks. I think it is my favorite configuration too. As far as build/price for all 3 configurations........
(I have not included shipping and taxes, also I had to guess at a few of the prices as I have not kept accurate records)

1) Lightly used SR-22 traded on the EE for a used RRA AR-15 upper, no cash changed hands, value approx + $550 (came with a bunch of magazines, Magpul AFG and full set of Dlask rails)
2) New Dlask 8" barrel +$160 (Dlask)
3) Used Ace stock +$90
4) Sold Ruger barrel -$75
5) Sold Ruger stock and tube -$75
6) Sold Dlask side rails -$50
7) Used no name brand illuminated 1-4x scope and mount +$80
8) Archangel magazine +$26 (Wanstalls)
9) Kinetitech shroud +$60 (Kinetitech)
10) 4" Double Star handguard +$45 (Brownells)
11) 2 Nordic adapters +$50 (Iron Eagle Tactical)
12) Vertical Foregrip +$17 (Iron Eagle Tactical)
13) Fake suppressor +$53 (Tacticool 22)
14) Quad rail foreend +$35 (eBay)

So if my math is right I am out of pocket $416 + misc tax and shipping charges. If you include a cash value for my SR-22/AR Upper trade it comes to $966

I think I like that one the best TEG, but the other configs are neat too. Also - had not heard of Tacticool 22 before. They ship to Canada?

Yes,they do ship to Canada. I used to own a S&W M&P 15-22, I really liked it, but once the mags were required to be pinned to 10 rounds I lost interest. Anyway, Tacticool 22 was one of the few places I found that sell aftermarket parts and accessories for the 15-22.

Nope, no heater yet:( I really thought it was going to warm up and I could save the money for next year but since we seem to be entering an ice age maybe I should reconsider, lol.

I have lost track of just how many SR-22 builds you have completed, could you post a picture of each of your SR-22's please? I would love to see your entire collection all together.
 
TEG, I really should take a family photo of them. Just as soon as I have them all complete. Nonetheless, here we go again...but this one I'm assembling for someone else.

I think its going to look great; plan is to have black hogue carbine length HG & grip and short ARFX stock. Very similar to this one I built below (I used green grips and a fatter can, but for this pic, I've photoshopped them as black and slimmed down the shroud)
