Armtac - SEI M14 DC Compensator - turns the M14 into a lazer beam :)

I carved so much of the wood that I ended up resanding with 180 grit and then 300 grit down to bare wood.

I applied Minwax Dark Walnut stain (2 times), with a rag, and finished it with 5 light coats of Minwax Tung Oil Finish over one week using sponge brushes and rubbing it down with a synthetic scrubbing pad between "coats".

Here's my new Italian Walnut Shorty that I just stripped, sanded, stained with the same minwax Dark Walnut stain and then applied a few coats of pure linseed oil.

Cheers,

SFRC has them now. That is where this came from. They are showing 4 left right now. $789.95. Their regular shorties are $539.95 so you are paying $250 for the walnut stock and handguard. Fit and finish of this batch of M305's are head and shoulders above my old 2007 long version!

These new ones are looking fantastic in the wood, and I hear they shoot as well as they look.
Might not be an M1A etc, but they are a long way from a "cheap POS Norc"
Gorgeous..all of them and it gives a guy an opportunity to try his hand at stock finishes.
Need more range reports and want to see you all in the 1.5 moa challenge.

I'm oiling my wood right now :)

No hate intended. I've met many with Norcs and vast majority love them. Me being a perfectionist and a desire to keep the $ I spend in North American economy or at least one with a democracy and human rights laws... I could not buy one. Came close though. The day that china starts trading fairly with the west and adopts human rights views, I may start buying their products. I go as far as seeking out North American made work clothes and boots, something I take great pride in.

Oh my! remove them blinkers bucko - North America no longer has any real Industry - its all sitting in China. "cleva people" being cheep, tree huggers chasing heavy industry away, and bad politics all have contributed to the fact that just about everything surrounding you, as you sit there on your computer has a made in China connection somewhere.

Well I just finished putting this together for a guy , I had previously fitted the Archangel stock for him and today I indexed the barrel and mounted a Troy battlerail .
It went well except for the freakin spot welds on the flashider. I have removed a lot of them with no issues and no damage to the flashider but this one was stubborn and the flashider cracked abit where it was welded. It is still useable though.
I had no problems with mounting the Troy battlerail except a bit of material had to be removed from the stock where the front barrel band contacts the stock .
He said he will join the NFA in lieu of payment so its all good !
