Thought I would throw up a few pics of my Colt factory Dissipator. This firearm is rare enough in this configuration that there was even argument as to whether or not they even existed. I would like to give a big "thumbs up" to the crew at IRUNGUNS for bringing this in.
From the research I have done it seems to be generally accepted that these were built for the California Highway Patrol (CHP), although the exact number of them built is unknown. These have a 16" chrome lined barrel with a 1/9 twist. They have been built to take a mid length gas tube under the full rifle length hand guards. These rifles were traded in in the US with an aftermarket collapsable stock on them, I have taken this one back to it's original configuration with a Colt A2 stock assembly that I had on hand and a 5/50 Colt magazine. It has some scuffs and bumps on the outside as would be expected from an issued firearm, but is like new on the inside leading me to believe that it was test fired and sighted in at the most. And now for the good stuff!

Interestingly it is marked as 5.56 on the barrel but 223 on the receiver.

Info, questions and discussion welcome!
