where to buy .22LR in bulk?

International Shooting Supplies has Remington buckets - meh! but the have bulk 500 rounds Federal and 5000 rds for $399. Game Shok copper plated hollow points #712. Scott figures it gone in a week and then the hunt begins again.

every time I go into CT or Wally World, I swing by the ammo section and if I see Federal bulk or Win 555 bulk, I buy it. I prefer CCi minimags, but they aren't at CT or Wally. When I see minimags on sale I get them.
Good results with the American Eagle. No problems with the one box I got.
Cant say nearly the same with the 333 - every 6-8 shots FTE in my bolt-action savage Mark II

Over the last 2 months,
I cleaned my local Wally World out of Fed "525" and Winchester "333" and "555".
Prices worked out to about .04 a round.
All of them work great in my 10/22, 715T and my 2 Cooeys.
I find the Win stuff very consistant, hard hitting on my array of steel targets and very accurate in the 50/60 yard range.
I did research and the "333" and "555" Win is the same bullet, as well the Win "expert" is the same less the copper wash coating.
While at the Ottawa Sail last Tuesday, i saw that they hard a large supply of Rem Golden 525 packs for $22. and change.
Great price , but I have never tried these so cant say how well they are (or not).
If they are anything like the Rem Thunderbolts, i would avoid wasting money on them.
Talk about inconsistant ammo.
Awhile back my local Can Tire had 2 bricks of them priced at $32 and change.
I laughed out loud when I saw that.
Recently i saw that they were gone.
Incidently, my local Wally World still has several Winchester "Expert" bulk boxs left.

Ughhh. I was being a bit picky and really hoping to pick up some CCI Mini Mag 40 gr. Checked 3 canadian tire's, wanstalls, levers, reliable, italian, 2 walmart's, Wholesale sports, various online shops. ALLLLL sold out. Some of these places have very little or no .22 at all. I would even settle for bulk blazer since it's shoots better than some packaged ammo in my rifle. Even better than Winchester match... Ughh

They seem to have a great selection of .22 when I was there 2 weeks ago.
I was trying to get out there yesterday after work, but traffic was a cluster####. Looks like they're closed today.
Remington Bucket O' Bullets "New and Improved" are better than what they were putting out a few years ago. They definitely changed something. The old stuff was crap. I just bought a bucket with the "new and improved" label and they shot just fine through my 10/22 and Marlin lever. I will buy more at CT for 75.00 a bucket.

Would you know if those bullets are the "Golden Bullets"?
Just curious as a while back some guys were commenting on the low quality of the Goldens.
I never buy bulk packs of any .22 ammo. For whatever reason they just never seem to shoot as well as the same ammo properly packaged. My theory is that the cartridges must in some way be damaged or degraded by bouncing against each other during packaging or transport.
However if a person is just doing fast offhand shooting at zero to 50 yards the main issue is function more than absolute accuracy.
I shoot mostly bolt action rimfire rifles and shoot for accuracy at 100 m. I usually shoot CCI Standard Velocity because it shoots really well for me and at a reasonable price. It shoots pretty much on par with SK Standard Plus and Eley Club at less than half the price.

I guess youve never seen 22lr made before. The only difference is the level of quality checks between match grade and bulk.
Most match grade that doesnt cut the mustard ends up in bulk packages. Thus some bricks can be great while others are not.
The bullets bounce around when they are made. Just watch youtube!

I picked up a bucket to try out as well, and found them to be just fine. They cycled my semi no issues and my lever was just as accurate as ever with them. They didn't seem to foul things up any more than anything else after a couple hundred. Had fun and still have LOTS of bullets left 
22s can be picky. Thats why most people will advise you to buy five or more types of ammo and see what your gun likes and what groups you get.
You might luck out and get a gun that likes bulk ammo. However I bet if you compare group sizes. Bulk will most likely be far larger. If all you're doing is rec shooting. Why not save $10+ on a brick?
