#¿(© you kimber costumer service

This almost seems to be true about any US based company. I guess we just don't matter. Luckily I've had no issues with my Kimber so far and hopefully I don't in the future. When I was looking for a 1911 I definitely seen a fair amount of people talking about qc issues, but also seen a lot of people praising kimber 1911s. I decided on a kimber based on recommendations from fellow nutters. It seems you can't google any firearms company without seeing a lot of positives and negatives.

@john Peterson.

That's a different story.

Custom shop guns/ top tier guns from them as far as I can tell have a spotless record.

A lot if not all of the problems arises from the entry level guns.

But most of us aren't "ballers" and as such can't afford "custom shop" guns.

Mine seems very well built.....almost as tight as my NHC.

I was looking at a kimber but heard form a few places that if the kimber is outside the usa there is no warranty on it. Guess what kimber my money is going someplace else. Will never buy a kimber or recommend one to anyone. For the record savage customer service has been great to a number of people on this board.

Kimbers can LOOK nice, but personally I haven't been impressed with them. Other's results may vary, but I would've likely not purchased one. This thread turns that into NEVER. As if it isn't bad enough we have an 'invisible wall' along the 49th parallel, the last thing we need is the companies themselves encouraging it.

What struck me was a comment from a gun dealer in northern Florida. He had placed an order with the distributor for one model and it was out of stock. He recieved the backorder a while later, and opened up the box to find not one but two guns already rusting. He called the distributor, and was directed to Kimber.

The gun hadn't been at the distributor for more than a few days since being shipped from Kimber, and they attributed the rust to the time in storage.....

I can believe it. I got a Kimber brand new from a dealer and the barel already had rust all over the outside of it. Not to impressed with that considering that I paid over $1500 for it. Sold it as quick as I got it and will never buy a Kimber again just for that one simple reason.

Screw them :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:ing Kimber. those reply to any customer is just pain silly. I can live without :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:ing American guns. I have many friends from the state and they are all nice to us Canadian but doesn't seems their company think the same way.

Their barrels(Kimber's) are not stainless unless you pay apx $1600+...They will tell you to just give them a light sanding and polish to stay ahead of the rust....lol..

OP what's the phone # for Kimber in the states? I'll call them 4-5 times a day and make exorbitante requests for orders...play them for a half hour or so, and then inform them that there may be a "problem" as my $10,000 order will need to be shipped to Canada and that I've heard that not only is our money no good too them, also their warranty is no good to us. I've therefore reconsidered my purchase..."Fu<k off, EH!?"

I say 3 or 4 days of this behaviour ought to shake some trees?

I don't think that's a solution or that it'll help. In a long run, it may hurt more than help. As I mentioned previously, from my contacting them, I found them to be very helpful and easy to talk to.

To contact them, I googled Kimber and the contact phone info was given as;
Toll free (888)243-4522
Int. calls (406)758-2222
Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 7:00PM

I may be mistaken but I think that basically holds true for just about anything firearms related, from the 'land of milk & honey', post 911.

:agree: I sent an email to Lone Wolf, Storm Lake and IGB asking a simple question on their barrels for Glocks and not one of them replied. I resent the emails a week later to all 3 and still no reply. I don't think these US companies (except for Brownells) gives a rats a$$ about anything when it has to do with Canada. :mad::mad::mad:

:sok2I hope they're not crap. From most I've talked to that have or have had them, I haven't heard anything but good. So, with what I've heard, when the opportunity presented itself, I picked up a Super Match II.

As I've only fairly recently obtained it, I haven't really put it through its paces yet but plan to do so, once the festive season is over and the weather improves a little. Of the 1911s and 1911 look a likes that I've had, this one has the sweetest trigger of them all. Also, I've seen nothing to indicate that the quality and workmanship is anything but top drawer.

I did have some inquiries concerning this Kimber and called to them at Kalispell Montana. I found them more than willing to help and advise.

I've been advising against Kimber for several years for a bunch of reasons but even I probably would have bought that one for that price.

You can always sell it for more than you paid.

I've also had major quality issues and terrible support from Kimber. I've had it from Robinson Arms and Para as well. Actually Robinson and Para make Kimber look awesome. I appreciate knowing who the companies are that are arrogant or don't service or care to support their customer base. It helps make future buying and selling decisions a lot easier. You live and you learn. Don't support them, sounds like they could care less if you did anyway.
