10/22 Custom Receivers

What is the picture on the dlask site titled "80% flat top reciever blank"? Is this another model of receiver with forward mounted rail that will be released soon?

80% means you need to finish it to make it "workable".
ie) Drill two cross pin holes, a barrel hole, v-block holes etc, etc.

Not something for the faint of heart....

Thanks Wham-0,
While I do appreciate the explanation, I do know what the 80% meant... ...my query was wrt the picture. It would appear to be neither the dlask flat top nor the railed version which i own.

Anyone add a Kidd Bolt to there Dlask receiver yet? Dr. Lector any input as to this being a good choice, drop in fit or?

thanks

The Kid bolt is a very good choice, not only for Dlask receivers, but
also for any aftermarket receivers.

Edit: yes, it is a drop-in part.

I finally have mine operational.
Dlask receiver,
Fabarm 11.5" semi-bull barrel;
Tapco Fusion stock;
Standard Ruger bolt, V block, Pins, cocking lever;
Tuffer buffer and
Hornet products polymer trigger group.

The bad new was I assembled a single shot :(

Well sometimes it behaved as a single shot, some times I would get a burst of 3-5 rounds with one squeeze of the trigger. Kind of neat but not what I was looking for.

So I tinkered with it a bit and thanks to a fellow gunnut who observed that the bolt was not traveling far back enough to #### the hammer, ( explains the single shot and 3-5 round slam fires). I greased the action up real good and bought 300 yellow jackets with the hopes of breaking it in.

Despite these efforts, I could not get it to run as smooth as my other 10-22.

So after some more thought, I pulled my stock 10-22 trigger group out of the other 10-22 my son uses (he considers it his but I have a different version of the story). So I put the hornet trigger group in his, (lucky kid), and put the stock trigger in the dlask, (stock but is does have the volquartsen hammer).

Good news, both function 100% now. 10-25 shots in a row with 10-25 squeezes of the trigger.

The bad news is, once that hornet trigger group is broken in, I am putting it back in mine! I figure bit the receiver and trigger group needed to be broken in.

My only problem now is with the sights. I put the Ar15 style flip up sights on it and the front sight is too tall. I think I may have to get a small rail riser to bring the rear sight up, ( I can't lower the front any more).

I'll post some pics of the two Tac-ti-cool 10-22's tonight.

Well here they are.....I took the AR15 sights off and put a scope on it until I get the elevation worked out for the irons.

And I have about 1000 rounds to burn off this weekend. All good!

The trigger group does not have to be broken in.
Why don't you send the receiver, barrel, trigger group, bolt etc to Dlask?
(Send them an e-mail before).
They will fit everything if it's their receiver.
I am very sure they will do it for free.

Not a bad idea, but both function perfectly now. I suspect the finish on the inside of the receiver is one contributing cause and the new trigger group is a little stiffer than the older one.

Before I switched the trigger groups you could feel a very slight resistance on the Dlask as compared to the other older ruger. The other ruger has seen at least 5000 rounds from me and I bought it used.

It was a little more difficult to compare the two after I switched but the dlask with the older trigger group did feel a bit smother.

The acid test was they both worked fine after that. :)

The only difference is the pull back bolt release and extended mag release between the two trigger groups and I can easily change that....

Heard from Joseph... ...the receiver with the forward milled rail (extends out over the V block) is their 3rd generation model.

If you are talking about this one, it is the new model of integral picatinny receiver.

If you don't like it, feel free to blame Brocolt (send him hate-mail or something).

Yikes, the original railed top receiver is now discontinued! :eek:

Okay, I'll buy the new version. ;)
