That's different... but I like it! What's the legal limit in Canada? There's no barrel limit just as long as the overall length is long enough right?

In Canada, as long as the OAL (overall length) is 26 inches you are good to go.. without the muzzle who does not count.. in my case its from the fixed butt stock to the end of the forearm since the barrel is shorter than the forearm.

Very nice. What barrel length? Stock details?

Thank you! :)
Long list of parts but the primary pieces are:

8" dlask barrel
Nordic Chassis
Double Star AR-15 arfx Skeleton Stock from Brownells
YHM Lightweight 7" from Brownells too but take paperwork/store to import
The top rail was a standard SR22 top rail .. hacksawed and had to tap new holes to mount the rail.

Bought the Archangel Saturday, and found the Ruger on Monday. My buddy Jay installed it for me that afternoon.

Maruzen Fakepoint red dot and a Deal Extreme flashlight, spared no expense on the name brand stuff, haha!

Took her out for a test drive that same night, shoots pretty flat out of the box (and into the Nomad stock haha!). Guess I should have left her stock for a while so I could get to know the 10/22 itself, but I wasn’t patient enough.

It was a total impulse buy. I already have a CMMG .22lr conversion kit I occasionally drop into my AR for plinking, but it’s nice to have a dedicated .22lr rifle and I don’t have to worry about fouling up my gas system in the AR.

Wholesale Sports in Langley had 4 yesterday. They sold two in the time I bought mine, and they had one left when I left the store at about 3pm yesterday.

I just picked one up too for 230$ :). The local shop here in moncton just got about a dozen standard 10/22s and just as many takedowns. Too bad they don't ship though

Just installed a Archangel Nomad stock set as well that I got from Hical! Looks awesome and the install was easy. I can't wait to take it out tomorrow!!!

The one that comes with the sr-22. Was heavy as hell also. As it was in that pic was just over 9.5 lbs on my scale.

Yeah im finding this is the case, bought a .22 with my wife in mind but the SR22 part was for me....she thinks its to heavy. Then I ended up with two but that's another story. Are the regular 10/22s significantly lighter? I might be picking up a regular one if that's the case. Its actually harder for her to hold it then my tavor :(

In any case it was fun buying ;)

finally done tinkering with this build.
custom made compensator just came in, gets the holes out past the stock so i can quit burning it with the hot gasses, haha

i was gonna look at repainting some of the parts blue (re-anodizing) but decided that im done building and its play time.

Yes, the sporter barrels are significantly lighter although the wood stock is heavier than some centerfire sporter stocks. A good option to keep the SR for her would be to buy and swap in either an 18.5" carbine or 16" crr barrel. A much more epxensive option is the Tacsol X-ring barrel for $250 from Wanstall's. Its a heavy contour aluminum barrel with steel liner. Pricey but light and accurate. Also, the SR-22 handguard is pretty heavy and could be swapped for any free floating AR handguard. Cheap airsoft parts can come in real handy here. You could: buy a take-off carbine or crr barrel, sell the factory SR-22 barrel for more than the sporter barrel cost (theyre worth a little more), then use the extra cash to buy a cheap free float handguard. You know what they say about happy wives...

Awesome build, I'd love to do one similar to yours. Any build info? Looks to be Dlask receiver and barrel?
