10/22 Tips & Tricks

gotta slick the action up, remove paint from inside the reciever, polish bolt, radius bolt, and replace extractor with a good after market.... maybe not all the above but i guarantee one of those is your problem. i did all the above any cycled through over 300 rounds today... flawlessly....


***EDIT : sorry didnt notice you were running after market rifle... but one or more of these may still be the culprit**
 
Can anyone tell me if the pro-mag 10/22 25 round magazine shells (AR style mag shell) will fit on the butler creek 25 round mags, or just on the promag 9-22 magazines?
 
Just wanted to chime in and thank the contributors of this thread. I just completed the bolt lock (auto) mod on my SR-22 and it works like a dream! My first modding experience to boot ^.^

I just did a trigger job on my 10 22, took very litt material off of the sear and hammer, polished everything to a mirror like surface, assembled the gun and wow, what a difference!, the trigger pull is very light and smooth as butter, the safety works as is supposed to and the trigger does not missfire when there is shocks against the gun. I recommend this trigger job to anyone who finds the trigger pull on a 10 22 is too heavy, just take as little material as possible and polish everything really well

K i want to do this...where is the step by step in here for this? Im going to do the auto bolt release tomorrow and see how that goes....I need to take it apart anyway...its pretty dirty from when I bought it
 
Lebarons not bad, Prophet River etc. Local I found fishing world in hamilton to be fair market value. I would love to know as well :)
 
Just wondering if anyone has stripped all the crappy powder coat off everything on a 10/22 ss? I'm currently doing mine from 220 grit all the way to 3000 grit plus a mothers polish after. It's starting to look super awesome!
 
I just tried to do the auto bolt release mod.... failed miserably and now I have a non functioning rifle :( bolt wont release at all now!

What sponsors have the drop in part? And an extended mag release?

Edit: I got it working!
wont work w/o a mag in though...

still looking for an extended mag release (not the trigger guard one) and an extended charging handle... Dlask?

Best accuracy mod I did after a new GM barrel, was to radius the rear of the bolt. This made for much more consistency shot to shot.
