1022 Tommy Gun Kit

Just so you know, it was never my intent to step on your toes.

You didn't step on anyone's toes Fun Gun. Competition is always a good thing.

I am sorry you couldn't get you product into Canada as, regardless of being competition, we are both on the same side fighting the anti's and the a**hole bureaucrats. I can truly empathize with you as a result of the situation you now find yourself. I am angry and frustrated with what you are having to deal with. It's just not fair. You try and do a good deed and you get:kickInTheNuts: It's always a blow to Canadian or U.S. firearm owners when government (yours or ours) tries to shut us down for whatever stupid reason they feel is justified.

We just have to keep fighting the good fight.

I truly wish you all the best and good luck with your product.

John

Wow. That sucks.

From the sound of it, it doesn't seem like you guys have something equivalent to our Freedom of Information Act.

They do actually. It's called the "Freedom of Information Act"

I don't know where they got the name.

"The fact that the current, recently revised regulations for the import and export of these products are not even available to the public months after the Obama administration has taken control does not bode well."

Mr AR15, thanx for your kind comments. : ))
Yes, we are on the same side.
No, I will not give up the fight!

I can pursue an explanation of this idiocy through the US FOI act, but not sure how this will change things given the current situation, and the answer will not come quickly.

Jefferson, please send me the attorney contact info when you get it.
My immediate goal is to get out from under the Gov'ts thumb as quickly as / if possible.

I have spent quite some time here lurking and reading many other threads, this is a great site and so many good people.
I'm very sad that this comes to an end (for now!).

But the fight ain't over!

-Fun Gun

As do all of us. Here's to hoping that everything works-out, and your product ultimately reaches us. Thank you for your efforts, they are very much appreciated.

Mr. AR-15, it looks like the focus goes exclusively to you for now. If I may ask, how are things progressing?

Thank you to everyone here for your support. It has been 2 years since I started this project. I never dreamed it would go this far. I just wanted a Thompson to play with:p and all of a sudden I'm manufacturing them for everyone.:runaway:

Well so far, things are going great. We finished the field testing stage and go into production next week.:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

We made some minor adjustments but nothing earth shattering. Our release date is still mid July, but realistically it may be a bit more toward the end of July side of mid July but then again maybe not. Lets just say by August we should be starting our second production run if y'all like my little kit. But come to think of it, since everyone is going to be on holidays then maybe we should move the release date to mid September when we're all back from holidays and rested and ready to get back into shooting. What do y'all think... ...:stirthepot2: ... Now, now I heard that:p.

I believe we should have some pictures for you soon. The gentleman who will be handling the retail side of this venture has the prototype and is in the throws photographing the kit as we speak.

BTW, have you seen our advertising campaign. It just started and will be running all summer long. We got Johnny Depp to stand there with our Thompson wearing a zuit suit looking like John Dillinger. And it didn't cost us one penny.

Well that about sums things up for the moment. Be patient. We are moving forward and it won't be much longer;).

When I saw that poster, I did actually think of your product.

looking foreward to pics!!! and pricing!!!

what do you think would be best the 16.5" barrel or the 18.5" barrel (what have you used for the prototype?)

i would like a 10.5 barrel just like the real thing . Can it be done cutting a target barrel a good option ? it has the shape of a thompson barrel and u would just need to add a sight to the end .

A 12" barrel is what I used on the prototype. Anything less than that and the fore grip wouldn't fit properly. Our retailer is working to have 12" barrels made up as we speak. Hopefully they will be available for purchase when the kit is released. With the longer 16.5" Ruger barrel, the Thompson looks almost identical to the 1927 Chicago version, :cool:VERY COOL.;)

Cutting an existing barrel would not be a good option from the legal standpoint.
