1911 9mm - which one?

My next 1911 will be in 9mm. I'm likely going to order an NHC Falcon in 9mm

having said that, I'd like to try a Kimber in 9mm too

I have a kimber stainless 2, a Springfield (which is for sale) and just picked up a trojan.
The kimber runs flawless as does the Springfield. Having issues with the trojan and my tripp mags. It runs fine on the factory mag though.
I love them all but unfortunately can't keep them all.

For what its worth ranger ll also has a wussy finish, and that one is made in Texas!
I agree that spartan over sam anytime, especially for the small price difference.
Down the road, 20k rounds later, if finish wore off too much to your liking send it to a gunsmith to retighten tolerances and have a nice black hard chrome finish done at the same time ;)

mine is over 20k now and doesnt need anything re-tightened :D, when I had the trigger freshed up by my smith at 15k he said fit was still as good as ever. Finish is 100% gone in places, but like I said, it adds character. Sooner or later I'll have it cerekoted out of boredom though I bet.

$821 is a good price, but check the EE for a used one if that is too high for you, that's where I picked up mine.

edit: I picked up my SAM from my gunsmith today, all I can say is run very very far away if you want to have anything done to it by a smith, I'll do a big post about it this week.

I have a springfield RO in 9mm and love it !!
Fit finish is better than kimbers I felt in random stores.

I've been looking at that RO recently. How's the finish holding up? Are you using any other mags other than what it came with? I wish they'd checker the frontstrap but then the price goes up.

These are a lot of gun for the money and in the 9mm chambering you'd probably have to shoot a lot more rounds out of it than you can afford before you'd ever wear it out. Any gun that gets used at all will have wear on the finish, but that is not a negative in my opinion.

I agree I too would like the front strap with lines.
Yes I have WC mags and STI mags they all work great.
The finish is holding up nicely some wear as I shoot action league weekly with it.

Just finished installing a SAM 9 mm barrel and bushing on my NP29. Awesome.

It was more work than expected, but it all turned out fine. Very tight. Very accurate.

Now I would like to find a fibre optic front sight for same.

I have a RIA 1911 9mm coming my way from the ee ! I was looking hard for a quality 1911 9mm and almost bought the springfield RO when I came across this and read all the reviews I jumped on it ! You don't always have to spend a small fortune to get an amazing gun ! Best of luck op

And the decision is........ Bought a SAM 9MM 5" enhanced off of the EE from a fellow CGN member. Good price and had a few extras with it.

Now the wait to get it....

Interesting about having to rebuild the Sam after a year. I had a big debate about either buying a better 1911 and spending more money or going the cheaper route and having to possibly switch some parts out. I have 2 Norinco's (NP22 and NZ85b) that both surprised me on the actual quality of the gun, the NZ85b actually shoots almost as good as my Shadow. Bought both used for not a whole bunch of money and went in with not much for expectations. I have already ordered some extra Wilson combat mags and a couple other parts for the SAM so time will tell. In the end I figured I would be more likely to tinker with a cheaper 1911 and would end up with more of a gun built to my specs, and an opportunity to learn a few tricks as well.

I opted for a STI Spartan and hope that it is more durable..
